First Convention I've been to as a seller.
Sadly it was not the best experience ever.
I did not go in expecting to sell a ton of stuff. I really just wanted to go and promote my book and what not. I did manage to sell a few things which was good. But the Con itself was a huge disappointment. There was no Marvel, DC, Darkhorse....in fact there were no big vendors at all. The only thing they had were a ton of guest which main were composed of Star Trek stars and playboy models -_-. They weren't even guest who held Q&As or anything just charges lots of money for a signature or events in which they made an appearance. And seriously what does Rod Blagojevich have to do with comics or anything at all related.
The convention was badly organized and no one there new anything, and all the web information they gave before hand was wrong or from the previous year. The costume contest was shoved in a tiny tiny room across the street from the Con and the people with bigger costumes could not even fit in the door. I got a bit claustrophobic and left with my party. And while walking around in costume my friend and I were called nerds....seriously at a convention filled with people cosplaying.....
Also no one knew who we were dressed up as either. I though the hat would be a giveaway with me but apparently not. (BTW my friend and I dressed up as a fancy Blackmage and Whitemage)
Anyways it wasn't the greatest Con to make my first, but I'm not discouraged yet. I will be more choosy with it maybe start smaller.
I did walk away with some fun stuff. But all and all it sucked.
I may be at Flatcon this year...friend is trying to get me to do it.
