You know what really grinds my gears? /familyguyreference
People who call themselves artists but can't handle negative criticism. It's just sad. Yeah, there's that whole "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything" philosophy, but that's a load of crap.
I'm an artist. Because I chose to join FA, I am actively and willingly sharing my art with the community. The community is made of people I do and don't know. When I submit something, be it a picture, a poem, some music, anyone in the community can view or hear it. Anyone. Because they're members of FA, they're entitled to view/hear it. Not only that, but the section beneath the submission allows them to comment on it. Read carefully! THEY ARE ALLOWED TO COMMENT.
The problem with moronic artists is that they misread this. While the rest of us see 'comment,' they see 'compliment.' At the first hint of negativity, they're up in arms. Folks, it's art. Art appeals to taste, and not everyone has the same kind, so there will be people who don't like what you produce. And they are entitled to comment on this dislike. And this is just something you'll have to deal with.
To you idiots who can't handle negative criticism, let me share with you some advice: Don't leave your trash in the street.
If you only want your friends to see your artwork so you only have to hear nice things, then post it somewhere private like in photobucket or something. If your first response to someone who doesn't like your art is to block them, then don't post here.
