Canon POS camera ruins trip

Well, the camera I was so happy with turns out to be a total piece of shit. Don't buy canon digitals! When I changed the batteries, it reset my preferences and 700 shots that were supposed to be taken at 2816x2112 instead got shot at 640x480 making them totally useless for printing. I will post some of the best here and cry at my desk knowing that I probably will never have a chance to visit the cliff dwellings again and replace the ruined shots.

I will never again use anything but my Nikons and will be selling this thing as soon as I can find someone I don't like to buy it from me. It will be awhile before I can afford the $1500 Nikon digital I want, but if it means no more disappointments like this, it will be totally worth it.

Awww JESUS! Man, you KNOW how I feel your pain. And to think that you thought you were getting them too. Gods what a kick in the nuts! I can't imagine... I've never had anything close to that. No wait... Long time ago I had a drive crash on me and take 3 years worth of very early raytracing work. (486 era). It's heart-stopping isn't it? That sick realization and cold feeling in your guts.

That's all kindsa messed up. I swear by Canon, never had that happen to me. Thinking maybe your CMOS/watch battery is dead.

Shit I'm sorry to hear that. :( Just remember that you did have a chance to see those places, and even if you can't show us in high quality, you will always know how gorgeous those places were when you stood there. I can't wait to see what you shot. :)

wow. That really is weird......I've never heard of that happening with any camera. I have a Canon Powershot myself. And I've had no issues with it. But I understand that something that devastationg happening would make you dislike it so much. I imagine that must be a fluke of a problem though. Usually Canon is one of the top camera-makers. I know HP's cameras really do truely suck. They probably have the worst ones overall.
