Hmm...I noticed on her page that she hasn't made a journal entry since last year Maybe some fanart will bring her back??

Thing is: She is an official mascot by now, yes. But contrary to the "official" "Fender" account, she does not have the "Administrator" level, so, one cannot be sure if that account is controled by an admin at all, and especially not how regularly.

Entering "Rednef" in the search shows several other people though, drawing pics of her, if it's just about the pics.^^

I'm sure fanart would surely still be appreciated by EF staff, though.^^

Thanks to Rusty (God bless his soul) Lei'Lani became a Lovely Lady of FA for a while. It got me a lot of fans, and they've stayed by me almost 2 years now. It really just takes a few nice people out there, some networking, some good work, (art or writing) and you can get pretty far!

From my memory, it is a good "family furry con". Lots of suiters, small but lots of event, and it is one of the cheaper ones to deal with. But yeah, i will tell anyone to go to this one out of most of the other cons we go to.

I think they still have adult panels/sell adult art and such, but i definitely didn't see any of fur piling and stuff that you see at other cons. I would totally take my mom to this one if she ever wanted to go to one again (and my mom is the "super religious" type- not that there is anything wrong with that at all, but just to give you a background on her).

Right, I figured there would be adult things, but as long as the entire place isn't swimming with it, then maybe it would be alright Wow! You'd take your mom to this one? That says a lot about the convention. Maybe I'll be able to take them after all. And we'd have a hotel that has a pool, which they'd love

Fur Fright is THE BEST CON (seriously, it is a toss up between that and Further Confusion for us for which one we like better). Lots of people to hang out with! Really nice staff and congoers! :)  jenkiwi and I will be there (shawntae will not but he never goes to that one)

You know, I keep hearing from folks that it's the best con to attend! I've heard it from a few people now, so I'm really curious! If I go, I'll definitely look out for ya Hmm...so, are there any other reasons why it's the best?

Well.. you know all of those artists you wanted to hang out with at AC but couldn't b/c you didn't have time to/they didn't have time to? Well at FF, you totally have time to :) Plus there is a Dick Blick 20 miles away for cheap art supplies (we don't have them here in MD so I have to order everything online). Last year as dealers, they gave us a ton of freebies, there is a ton of candy floating around, the atmophere is really calm and enjoyable, and the people who run the con are extremely nice! You will get a ton of New England/ East Coast artists, and although this is a smaller con than AC or MFF, you will have people fly in from even Europe to go b/c it is that nice.

The area itself and the travel up is beautiful b/c of all of the leaves changing color, plus you have more people dress us (not even as furries) this time because it is halloween themed.

People I know who are going: HollyAnn, Kalika, Okemono, Rabbi Tom, Eshefalafel, AuraDeva, Calioshide, EC Major (possibly), Yiffer Fox, Susan Van Camp, and so many more! I can introduce you to them if you like to meet any of them :)

This sounds just lovely! I think, regardless of whether or not my nephews get to come, I'm going to make a serious effort to come out there. It really sounds lovely!! I'm a little too late to get a dealer's table, though But, they have an artists' alley, I think. Perhaps I'll try for that.

One of these days I'll go. Right now my darn day job prevents me from getting to many cons. From what I've heard it's a fun event - and quite profitable too if you're selling hallowe'en things.

Nah, I won't even have a table. I didn't hear about this until AC, and by then, they were already sold out

I was considering it, but the transportation thingy is a bit iffy--as in, the bus service out there is even wonky-er than when it was in Waterbury (the one year I went). Getting there from the nearest train station requires being dropped off at a shopping center (Wal-Mart?) on the other side of the highway interchange next to the hotel...with no sidewalks that I could see from Google satellite view. The only bus that stops nearly close to the hotel runs something like: "when elephants stampede during a hailstorm on the Fourth of July."

It's a comparatively cheap event to attend to be sure, but definitely a "need a car-con". (as evidenced by the "Dick Blick (only) 20 miles away" comment).

Yeah, I heard about the, "being dropped off at the Wal-Mart" situation. I guess the safest thing to do would be to call the hotel for their shuttle. I believe they have one that goes to the Wal-Mart for the drop-off

Oh, the problem isn't the distance, it's the highway in between the the convention hotel and motel we'd be staying. Unless I know for sure that cabs are in the area, we wouldn't be able to cross it, safely. But, we'll see. I may just go for a day and then leave that night or the next day. We'll see. And yeah, my nephew actually called me about it last night. ...he didn't forget and still really wants to go!

Well, you can't trun him down! Why don't you just call the motel, they'll know what your options are for crossing the highway.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight! Well, his birthday is the 23rd of October and when he asked if I could GIVE him my Simpsons DVD's, I told him that taking him to FF would be my present to him. After that, he happily said no more about the DVD's. For him, that's really REALLY huge because he LOVES the Simpsons!!

No, tables are already sold out. I may get an artist's alley slot, though, but I'm not sure. Gotta play this one little by little. Besides, my nephew was excited about me NOT having a table. Why? Because it means that we can walk around the convention together He was looking forward to that, too
