pageviews are great, especially on the individual pieces of art, it shows you which ones of your pieces that are the most appreciated, seeing people are usually to goddamn lazy to comment.

i know that porn and other simple things like fanart and what is popular right now is always going to get the most views, but besides that, pageviews are a pretty neat way of knowing you are appreciated.

i don't think it should be removed, but i altso think people shouldn't give so much of a shit about it...
all good if people wanna make these "i got xxxx" pageviews lol artworks, all fine with me, but there is a bad side about everything.
like people eating your face over and over to get your fucknig pageviews so that they can somehow force you into drawing...
if that makes any sense.

none the less, any artist out there who thinks pageviews are imoportant and just simply wants more of them, DRAW PORN, DRAW YIFF!!
and if you just think the damn thing has to be removed, then just don't pay any goddamn attention to it.

It sounds like a certain jealousy to me...

I don't even look at someone's pageviews, only their art and if their art doesn't interest me, then.... no reason to stick around.
Pageviews don't interest me that much, no matter that I give someone a drawing when they catch a certain amount of pageviews on my gallery. That is more for fun as I actually don't really do art trades or requests. It is then the oppertunity for someone to finally ask me a request drawing.

I also think people have a different point of view on the 'drawing lacks something'. Not everyone is interested in the same thing.

For an example: you draw with the meaning of politics, war and irish history (I think.)
Now, that truly doesn't tickle my interest and therefor I don't see the actual meaning behind your drawing.
For me, it is then just a drawing.
No offence.

I draw things based on my imagination. That doesn't mean people have to get the complete meaning behind it, because they can't look inside of my head. I don't blame them either if they just see it as a mere drawing and show no interest.
That is fine by me as it is my fantasy. It is my meaning and my purpose as well. I don't even have to explain it to people if I don't want to.

I ran out of things to say about this journal entry and I got confused about the whole thing and the point you were trying to make.

no I don't say pageviews makes you draw better, just before this I saw two artists bitching about which one is better. One of the guys didn't have much art, the other had lots of pageviews and JUST because the "smaller" guy made constructive critisism the other one started with "I GOT LOTS OF PAGEVIEWS! YOU HAVE LIKE 100!" etc etc even though such things are really unrelevant in a discussion like that.

That was really how I got annoyed by it and the real reason why I wrote it.

OOoh... you should have mentioned that because it makes things more clear now.

i have one thing to say about this and that is that the guy or gurl can screw him/herself over with the ego of pageviews.
