Well they still can ride other mounts, it's just that they won't bring a new racial mount for the Alliance players to work towards, effectively making work towards exalted Gilneas reputation worth very little.

1- So... If the worgens racial "mount" will be running on fours, this means alliance will have 2 less mounts than the horde?

2- Female worgens look cool, uglier but cool. I just wanted this to be a face customization option, not forced to have this... scared look

Face customization for all races has only been made of texture swaps, none of them chance actual key face features.... except for the goblins. ... huh.

Yeah, i heard those muzzles aren't likely going to change, but they at least have to make some slight changes to the female, they still look more freaked than vicious
I'm not sure, but orc and troll faces change, don't they? i see some orcs with more angry looks than others because of different mouths

that's a pain in the ass. I'm a bit surprised that worgen didn't get a firetruck mount. Perhaps the females will still get the caramelldansen dance. bwahahhaha, I'm lame but I'm submitting feedback for it.

But the Orcs already have worg mounts, wouldn't a worgen riding one be the ultimate insult? Seeing how Gilneas retreated out of the alliance because they hated the orcs and wouldn't want to fund keeping them alive in internment camps? :p

Oh look. They gave the alliance something they refused/decided not to give the horde. How surprising. I do like the new worgen female models a bit more than the original although to be honest that face looks pretty derpy from those angles, something about the eyes, I honestly doubt I'm gonna spend much time in Cata myself, more interested in GW2.

I'll do the next best thing, I'll play both. :p

Also... plainsrunning sucked for Tauren when Blizz first made it, now they can't just go back and take away all the kodo mounts from every Horde player, now can they?

Honestly as someone who plays almost exclusively tauren I wouldn't be that bothered by it because my god kodo are ugly as sin. I ride my talbuk or war chickens instead, generally.

Also the running all fours thing was talked about by blizz when cataclysm was announced o.o;; I'm pretty sure of that, cuz my wow crew discussed it before we even saw any models.

Plainsrunning was a Tauren thing.

I don't know really, I saw a lot of forum posts about people wanting Worgen to have a Plainsrunning-ish ability. And no, it was a Tauren thing and had a very clunky mechanic :p
Also, they had that one single concept image of a worgen mount that people kept hanging onto, but this is still nice :p

^^;; I think it's a nice racial thing to have isntead of a mount, since the race is so powerful physically (or so it is supposed to be). I love that, I also am glad they're making the females more feral looking, they looked really bad to me before when they started working on them. They just seemed so weak in terms of keeping them in "character" plus the voices... don't get me started on how awful they are u.u;;;!!

I couldnt remembe ris Taurens/druids were the ones with the plainsrunning thing, I never played beta but I started when the official game was released nearly 6 years back. Thanks for clearing that up, I had only heard it from a friend a few years ago, also something about having the tauren travel form as an owl instead of a cheetah.

As far as I remember, travel forms were supposed to be stags instead of a Cheetah >.< To quote wowwiki:
It is widely speculated that the original intention was for this form to be a stag but was changed at the last minute, explaining the odd hoof-shaped icon, and the fact that while the other forms (except Tree of Life Form, although this is assumed to be changed in Cataclysm) have unique skins, cheetahs which look identical to travel form exist in the game.

I wasn't there in the beta either, or not for long at least, but I still have the manual from 6 years ago, which specifically states: "each race has its own unique type of mount, except for Tauren, who are too big to ride animals and must resort to their plainsrunning racial ability." I also remember the original website explanations at launch, which had pictures of plainsrunning :D



And yeah, the voices -are- rather atrocious, there's just not much reference material available for feral werewolf WOMEN, it's... who decided having them sound like Patty and Selma from the Simpsons was a good idea. >_<
Then again, they hauled along the voice actress everyone loves to hate from WotLK along with them again in Cataclysm, I wasn't expecting too much :( At least Goblins have kickass voice acting, but I'll have to listen to mister Metzen for the rest of my worgen gametime XD

I was actually loling when I read that on mmo-champ.
The reason I started giggling is because my character's a racial amabassador.. So can Ambassadors to the alliance, who can use all mounts with the factions they're exalted with, purchase this new 'mount'? If so.. The mental image of my non-worgen character running on all fours was so hysterical I think I hurt myself with laughter.

They will not be bringing a race specific mount, so no, no Gnomes running on all fours :p In essence, you can use a regular horse to play ambassador, really.

Bawww! My imagination has been shattered! I was so enjoying the LOLs provided by gnomes and dwarves running around on all fours in my mind. Aha. Oh well, it provided entertainment for a while!

I just hope that the male and female worgen get a good variety of distinctive hairstyles, instead of this general mane they have with some copypasta'd orcmale hairstyles.

lol yeah. it's a shame that they did drop the Plainsrunning on a Tauren though. but hey. Tauren + Trike = epic win imo

I foresee a lot of QQing once it sinks into the heads of ally players that this means six fewer mounts for those going for the 100 mount achievement.

They could soften the blow by giving only one color trike for the 60% and 100% bikes, giving the horde an advantage of 2 mounts only.
Though... it's not hard to get 100 mounts these days, without counting rare drops.

You'd actually be surprised as far as the 100 goes though - hitting 50 was ok but once you clear 60ish if mem serves, it turns into a real chore.

I don't know really, I have the 100 mounts achievement and I think the majority of those were bought. ..well, not all of them, I did get the two brewfest mounts and a couple of other rare ones, but the Argent Tournament ones were quite a chore to get, yes.

A running fast sepll makes more sense since..well...honestly, wolf people riding another animal would just be fucked up, no offense to wolf people
