German Lesson 11: Irregular Verbs

When you speak of irregular verbs in English, then you mean verbs whose participle (Partizip) forms are not constructed with the regular way, by addind -ed to their end. E.g.: eat - ate - eaten
German irregular verbs are even worse O_o they can range from slight differences in the conjugation up to absolute different conjugations and participles. That means: learning learning learning.
Since we haven't dealt with any other tense than the present tense (Präsens) I will only give the conjugations of some common irregular words without the participles. All irregularities are writen in bold text.
to be - sein (totally irregular)
=singular=
1. I am (I'm) - ich bin
2. you are (you're) - du bist
3. he/she/it is - er/sie/es ist
=plural=
1. we are - wir sind
2. you are - ihr seid
3. they are - sie sind
to become - werden
=singular=
1. ich werde
2. du wirst
3. er wird
=plural=
1. wir werden
2. ihr werdet
3. sie werden
to have - haben (slightly irregular)
=singular=
1. ich habe
2. du hast (with regular construction it would be "habst")
3. er hat (not habt)
=plural=
1. wir haben
2. ihr habt
3. sie haben
to give - geben
=singular=
1. ich gebe
2. du gibst
3. er gibt
=plural=
1. wir geben
2. ihr gebt
3. sie geben
to eat - essen
