Drawing for printing with GIMP
Does anyone have any tips for drawing with GIMP with printing in mind? I'm drawing at 300 dpi but the results remind me of watching a VHS tape with a video projector. Should I go to 600? Or perhaps you might recommend a good tutorial in drawing with GIMP? Many thanks in advance.

I'm sure there are plenty on YouTube, too. It just is a matter of adding keywords that match the specific project you want to do (example, search for: "GIMP tutorial line art" or "GIMP tutorial download brushes"). I like using Artweaver and make tutorials for it on YouTube, so I guess I'm not a GIMP expert. o_0
Do you mean that when you print it, it turns out pixelated and looks bad?
Maybe your printer setting is printing it at the wrong size, so it's stretching out (example: When you're about to print, you checkmark something that scales the image to fit the whole page instead of printing at the actual, smaller size). I have never had any problems printing art at 300 dpi.
If the colors are wrong, you have to convert the colors from RGB (computer colors) to CMYK (ink colors). Here is a tutorial/plug-in for converting: http://www.suite101.com/content/how.....n-gimp-a107979 I haven't converted colors in GIMP, but in Photoshop, you flatten the image and then convert it, so try that in GIMP.
Also, it depends on what you print with. Inkjets aren't as good as laser printers in the consumer level. The quality of the ink/toner itself can also affect things. You also want to check your printer and printer driver settings to make sure you're printing at the same DPI as the file.
