After taking my car in to have the alternator belt replaced (for roughly $50) they tell me my tires got a nail in it and the other small belt is fraying too. ($145) YAY I can actually afford that and not sink. Bad news? Some "boot" part of my power steering something-or-other is rusted cracked and leaking.... which I can only assume will get worse as cold weather gets colder. New York Hates all Cars. I have one estimate by the dealer that says $716 for parts and labor PLUS another $80 for a re-alignment. I am getting not only a second opinion, but also price checking the parts if Garvey will tell me what they are, and asking two garage-y type friends of mine to quote me on it too. Im HOPING very hard that its more like $400ish. I just cant afford $800.... I wouldnt have it til Christmas!

My family understands if they dont get presents, but I HATE doing that. There is only SO much wall space to give them artwork when Im broke, so I'm asking my watchers what they would like to see me offer. I would like to at least make $90-$120 so I can buy my family $30 worth of gifts each.... They might only get a single present for $30, but at least I wont feel like a douche getting presents and not giving any back.

PLEASE. If you can afford to commission me, tell me what you would like to see me offer?
