I had the unexpected fortune this year to walk the front steps of San Diego Comic Con, and on the train ride back I shared a seat with a man in a Pathfinder costume. I don't know if anyone else on the crowded train recognized him, but I did.

However, the proper icebreaker hit me only two seconds after his exiting the train and vanishing forever. I could've kicked myself.
What I should've said was this: "Mind the branch!"
