November 2nd... I'm kind of scared...
I'll be honest here. I'm a staunch Democrat. I believe that progressive movements have always been the best provider for social liberty, and conservative movements have only provided deficits and fascism.
---
The people who are constantly bashing Obama are doing so on a basis for two years of efforts that have been constantly hampered by conservative efforts.
Obama COULD be a dick and simply block all Republican programs with the Democratic majority in Congress.
He HASN'T done this because he believes in bipartisanship and working together for the greater good, and he believes in this to a fault.
---
If people feel that Obama hasn't fulfilled all of his political promises, please recall the last President who was able to do so: James K. Polk, the 11th President of the USA. He managed to complete all of his political promises within one term, and right after he got out of office, he died from the effort. I think Obama knows that he needs to make himself last at least two terms to try to set things right in our nation.
---
I feel that the Tea Party-ers are a mix of hypocrisy and irony for their name sake. They match up almost exactly with the original revolutionaries of our nation:
-The major power structure (The British Government/The Bush Administration) does not enforce its policies on the people. The wealthy take advantage of this lack of power by bribing and threatening officials to make their own lives easier.
-The major power structure (the British Government/ The Obama Administration) starts to enforce its policies on a much stricter level than before. the wealthy (Yes, the Founding Fathers were great, but they were also rich. they owned large tracts of land, hundreds of slaves, etc. Between the British Royals, Themselves and the American population, you could consider the Founders the middle class of their day.) feel threatened by this new encroachment of power and make constant attempts to free themselves.
-Finding a group of people willing to fight with them, which make up a minority of the total population (The Revolutionary Army/The Tea Party), they use their wealth to endorse and supply under the banner of freedom, prosperity and liberty.
Regardless of the similarity here, the Founding Fathers eventually produced a system of government that would slowly but surely progress forward to include rights for women, children, ethnic minorities and people in general. From what I can tell from the advertisements, the Tea Party wishes to revoke those very same rights that generations of people have worked decades to secure, including the choices of women, LGBT people and the working class.
---
Democrats aren't stepping up to it, but there has been progress made in the past two years, including:
-Minor but Necessary Healthcare Reform (Again, severely hampered by Conservative ideals). You can now hope to get Healthcare even if you're already sick.
-Wall Street Reform
-Tax Breaks for the middle and lower classes
-The Closing of Guantanamo Bay
-Troops no longer being 'surged' into the Middle East and plans underway to remove combat troops entirely
---
Finally, I believe this video link provides the most succinct reasoning behind NOT voting Conservative.

I remember as well.

I won't say I'm the wisest, smartest or sharpest person in the world. I'm often naive and I tend to lack what people consider 'common sense'. However, looking back in history, progressive thoughts like personal liberty, equality among gender and ethnicity, and freedom of belief have brought positive changes to the many societies of the world, including ours.
In truth, all that I ask is that tomorrow, if you're a citizen of the USA and are able to vote with an educated opinion that isn't under the influence of mob mentality or religious conformity, an opinion that comes from YOUR understanding of the experiences you've dealt with in your life, please vote with those thoughts in mind.
Thank you very much; I promise I will try to avoid such political rants as much as possible in the future.

Know this: The government that has the power to give you everything you desire has more than enough power to take it all away.
If you want to see the future of the United States of America under the iron claw of the Elites, you need only look at Europe, which is well on its way to falling into complete chaos because of the crushing financial burdens of its social programs. The only reason they have been successful up till now, is that the United States was there to help prop them up. And with the US beginning a long slide into the abyss, the powers that be in the EU are absolutely TERRIFIED. WE were the last of the free. The world looked to us as a counterbalance to their rampant socialism, and when the scales began to tip towards Communism here in the states with Obama and Co., they all collectively began to shit themselves.
We financed their workers paradise by our presence alone. The Greek social system has been held up as a shining ideal by the Obama administration and the Dems. Have you had a good look at Greece lately? This is the example we want to follow? My friend Rekka barely made it out of the country before the rioting began. They are bankrupt; borrowing money from Germany to keep the lights on. Europe is well and truly fucked, and they know it.
Its time for people to stop asking the government to make their lives easier. THAT is NOT the place of government.
What part of Obamacare stresses "personal responsibility"? What part of ANYTHING that these people do restores your God given rights? I haven't seen any laws repealed since they have taken office.
Only a compulsory health care nightmare that we have yet to see the shitstorm from. Any business that spends more than $500 on supplies now has to submit an itemized 1099 to the IRS for EVERYTHING they buy! The IRS is crapping themselves over the amount of paperwork they are going to have to process starting THIS YEAR! The cost is estimated to be in the BILLIONS, just for that ONE facet of Obamacare.
The fed is SCRAMBLING for revenues, because in point of fact, they have NO idea how they are going to PAY for all this shit. The obvious answer is of course, the scourge of Europe, VAT tax. Basically, it means that EVERYTHING you buy will become more expensive, due to the taxes that will be levied on every stage of production. A loaf of bread that now costs $1 will now cost $1.75, because the seed will be taxed, the grain will be taxed, the flour will be taxed, and the bread will be taxed. You will also be taxed when you buy the bread. But since the taxes are hidden, you wont be able to bitch about them.
Healthcare costs will skyrocket, because with compulsory healthcare, there will be no competition to the government system. The stranglehold will be complete.
It costs $500 for a simple X ray at the hospital, because though that X ray costs the hospital $45, Medicare will only pay $10 for it. The hospital passes the difference on to its uninsured patients, who have no negotiating power compared to the government healthcare provider. Meanwhile, the hospital makes so little for its procedures, it stacks unnecessary tests onto the bill because its trying to break even on the Medicare stipend. The whole thing is fucked.
Their answer to the problem: Make it ILLEGAL to not have health insurance, and extort the necessary funds from employers and labor. Yeah, THAT sounds like a good idea…
I'm sorry, but I prefer to actually LIVE FREE. THAT is the precept upon which the United States was founded, THAT is the ideal our founding fathers held dear. You use the fact that they were successful in their time to make suspect their achievements. Meanwhile you're following a bunch of cultural elites around like they are the second coming of Christ.
I thank God that we are on the way to rooting the little tumors our of our flesh before they completely fuck us. Take your healthcare and shove it- Obamalama. I can provide for myself, thanks.
Toodles, kid. Go out there an d learn the Truth. Your Messiah is a false prophet. The Republicans suck too. The Tea Party is fucking CRAZY. Don't listen to ANY of them. Go out and find out for yourself- don't listen to the talking heads. They are nothing more than a puppet show.
Oh, and thanks for the Fave!
