Getting Back on Track
At this very moment, my backup hard drive is transferring nearly 300GB worth of crap into a shiny new 2.8Ghz iMac. Folks, this thing is ALL screen - 24" wide and 1900 x 1200 resolution. After once sporting 2 large monitors to work with, it's nice to have that much screen real estate again. Best of all, it's getting 4GB of RAM in a few days. A geek's paradise? You bet.
So what do I plan to do with it?
Well, for the first few months, probably not much. Angry Viking Press employed me for much of this summer. I happily colored the cover for
Shonuff44's Coco Gun Bun #1, logos for Ratbat's Edenworld Saga and Karabiner's "Conquest of Dawn", a redesign for their website, plus dialogue and coloring touch-ups for Coco #1. It brought me to mid august, and classes start again in less than 3 weeks. There simply wasn't a lot of "me" time this summer, so aside from these creative endeavors, I haven't gotten any personal projects done.
Still, two sketchbooks actually had my scribblings this year at AC. The first was from
indigoangelcat and the second was drawn for her friend Kiwi - who from the appearance of her backside, has never touched a seat. ^_^=. It's a running gag; she's liable to beat me senseless...or have Natasha do it.
Hoping to get a scan of Kiwi sometime soon...it took 5 hours to draw in a quiet corner of AC's third floor balcony, but was worth every minute. That one came out really nice, especially for someone who hasn't drawn in over a year.
Speaking of AC...most of it was a blast! I got to meet Natasha, Jen, Tamen, Shawntae, Ronzo, Jason C, Brian, and his GF (who we noticed has very good advice about women) Jay Axer, Nick, Max, DC Rabbit, and the whole crew. Not sure what's happening next year given the 5-hour drive to Pittsburgh, but I'm not totally ruling out visiting again.
I'm going to focus on school and work for the next few months in hopes to keep both in good standing. The weekends should allow SOME time for recreation, so I hope to squeeze out a personal sketch or two when time allows. In the meantime, you'll probably see some older stuff coupled in with a few new pieces.
Better go...gotta finish those Gun-Bun touchups!

Hey so what will you be working on of yours in the future? Got any chars of your own or sumthin?
Heh If ya do I know I wouldn't mind seeing a team up picture of your character with my Coco drawn by you.
Peace
Not really sure what's coming up, since school and work will suck up 90% of my free time. As for chars, I have just one that stuck over the years:

Hopefully some of that personal time I'm trying to make will include coming up with another. :)
I'd like to draw her with Coco, but I'm still trying to finish your Coco pages! ;)

You'd better; I plan to be at AC next year!
