I'm still here + game reviews
It's been a couple of months since I posted any new stuff and I apologise for that, I let my usual laziness get the better of me... again:) For the last few weeks however I have been obsessed with a few new video games that have come out recently, so I thought give a quick review of these for anyone who might be interested. Don't worry, I'll try to keep it brief.
Fallout: New Vegas
Ok, Fallout 3 was probably my favourite game ever, in fact I was still playing it up until I got this sequel, so I was definately looking forward to this. It plays almost identically to Fallout 3 so if you liked that, you'll probably enjoy this. There a some differences to be aware of, first off, this is much harder. You can no longer expect V.A.T.S to save you as you will still take serious damage while using it. Also enemies are stronger than the previous games, Deathclaws are now the creatures of nightmare they should have been and don't even get me started on the new Cazadores, stinging bastards. Now the major problem, this is the buggiest game I have ever played, freezes are common and there are several serious, game ending glitches. But hey, this is a very fun game when it works and that is most of the time, hopefully the bugs will be fixed soon but if you can handle them, I definately recommend this game.
Fable 3
Let me start by saying that although a lot of people get annoyed by the hype before the release of a new Fable game, most of the new features do work well. Unfortunately there are problems, first of all the expression wheel is gone, this seriously limits how you can interact with other characters as you're basically left with a choice between a nice or cruel expression, you don't get to choose which expression this is. The game also keeps the major flaw of it's predecessor, it's short. It won't take long to finish and the story feels very linear. You're probably better off renting this than buying it.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2
This was fun. The force powers can now feel a little over the top, this is a good thing. You really get the feeling of being a jedi at his peak and convincing two enemys to have a lightsaber duel is constantly amusing. However, this game suffers the same flaw as Fable, it is very short, you can easily beat the game in about 3 hours. when you first look at the level select, you'll see nine levels, sounds good right? Well no, it's actually only five levels split into sections, and one of those levels is basically just a cutscene. Again I'd recommend renting this one.
And that's the end of the reviews. In other news I am back in the world of the unemployed, the problem with seasonal jobs is that when the seasons over, so is the job. I'll still have the occasional day there, but I'm going to have to sign onto the dole again. Oh joy.
Well I've written enough for now so until next time, this is Three Dog, and you're listening to Galaxy News Radio. And now, some music.
