Hello Furries and good morning,
For the last year or so That I have been on FA alot has changed. The site has seen many different changes. Some good and bad. There where a few good fads that went around and some that where funny but the hole joke to me was like "hey is there something speacial about this new meme thing" I love to hang out around this wonderful community and would hate to see it spoil and fester into something unpleasent.
During the last year I have noticed that the userbase for FA has grown quite dramaticly. But Who here is actually furry? There are some great artists that do some furry and house there unfurry works here on fa. Hey thats cool I love to see what other people are drawing. Ive also noticed alot of cool photography, Some of you guys shoot some very good pictures. Some of them I actualy drool in my pants over how great the pic is. Just really great stuff being posted.
However there is always that certain group of people who take a few too many pictures................... Of themselves. Come on I dont understand. Isnt Furaffinity supposed to be here to house artwork such as music, animations, paintings, Sketches, photography and even the occasional poem or story? The whole thing about the furry fandom is to escape the worries and fuss with the real world and to be something else for a change. People are very curious of who is behind the avatar most of the time and Ive seen quite a few wonderful artists post pictures of themselves in the norm just to show and perhaps shock people of their RL selves. Some people Post too many pictures of themselves. This is not needed here on FA. IF you want to show people what you look like every day of the year do what every one else is doing and get either or both a myspace account or livejournal. Its a waste of space on FA to post meaningless pictures of yourselves to gosip over. Who really cares what shirt you wear on a monday night when the moon is full on the third day of the year, when the grass on the lawn is 3 inches high, when your grandma makes pasta sauce for your little brother to throw across the room at 8PM PST. there is not enough people who really care. Id rather see some 10 year olds painting of a power ranger killing barney the dinosaur.
Keep the RL on Myspace or Livejournal.

Though, I think you're generalizing too much on a few points.. There are a lot of furries here, and there's a lot more artwork being made than crappy photographs. The key is to watch the people that make the art you like, and just ignore those that don't. The great thing about FA is that through the watch system, you see basically what you want to see in your inbox.
And considering FA can host it's own con now, I doubt we'll have too much trouble running out of space on the servers. Yeah, it'd be nice if all these me-mongers would stick to Myspace, Facebook, Livejournal, and whatever else, but unless it becomes a severe problem, and there ends up being more pointless pics over actual artwork being produced, I doubt much will be done.
I know the admins did take a stand against the flood of Second Life pictures being brought in, and that was refreshing to see (Check the Terms of Service). They limited the number of pictures relating to Second Life that people could bring in, as well as the circumstances that they could be posted. They may end up doing a similar thing for this me-mongering... Cross your fingers!

The site is not as great as myspace but if the user base expands enough Im sure the admins will be encouraged to put such features as video, music, and an IM program to go with it. Just like On myspace.
FA I found is pretty open minded as long as you abide by the rules. The feeling I get is its a place for furries and about furries but you know what? we are human out there so just as much as being furry is a part of us in the real world being human is a part of us online. As long as its within the rules I dont care who posts what and like I have said before if you dont like it theres a back button or an X in the corner of the screen. I dont like seeing a babyfur with a loaded diaper but I am not going to complain about it.. I'm just going to click back and go about my day
I do agree with you. Photography is nice (and I too have seen some beautiful photographs), but if someone is to post up a pic of themselves, the limit for that should be at least 2 - 3 pics...tops. Maybe one of just the face, another one could be their entire selves...and maybe one if they're at a party or some special occasion (Con, Halloween, awesome vacation with friends, etc.) and take a pic of themselves. But an entire gallery of nothing but the same person (with maybe another person, pet or toy)? To me that's a mix of both uncreativeness and a little creepy.
So far I have one thing with pics of myself...with a horrible webcam...and I do plan on making one more with a regular digital cam... And this time I plan on not saying horrible bad things about myself. :P

Ah, one more thing. I'm not a part of MySpace (never wanted to in the first place...wow, that rhymed! XD), so I know little from what I hear and seeing what my sister does (she's a part of it). I noticed how some people have a HUGE list of people they Watch on MySpace, and I'm noticing there's some people here signing up on FA to do the same (I'm sure they're also doing that on DA, but I haven't been hit by one yet). These people are treating FA like it's MySpace and trying to get the most Watchers in their list. >.-.< I find it extremely annoying.
