The Chipmunks covers you haven't heard UNTIL NOW
15 years ago
On my quest for a complete collection of AATC music, I came across the fact that a couple Guitar Hero-esque rhythm games have been churned out as tie-ins to the feature films.
Intrigued, I looked over the tracklists.
The latest 'Squeakuel' game has a paltry selection of tracks, the entirety of the lot having been lifted directly from their other albums.
However, their first game, released in 2007; has an impressive list of 39 all-new covers that were recorded specifically for the game title, spanning a wide variety of popular rock. I was blown away, actually.
After poking around a bit, I discovered that nobody else on the internet had made these tracks available. For shame!
So! immediately I went about grabbing a copy of the PC version of this game.
I subsequently spent the whole morning ripping open the bin files, locating the proper raw files that contained all the tracks, extracting those one-by-one into .pcm, and then converting them to MS ADPCM, and finally re-encoding them into 320kbps mp3! (Then, of course, tagging the tracks properly one-by-one by listening to each file)
This all took around 6 hours, so I can understand why nobody else has really bothered. They'd have to be disturbingly obsessed.
ANYWAY
They sound great, and you can't get them anywhere else! So, if you enjoy AATC covers, grab them!
It was funny to note how there are certain tracks that were locked only to particular versions of the game. The Wii and PS2 releases of this game had 'exclusive' tracks that that PC/DS version couldn't access; and vice-versa. However, the developers didn't bother to actually remove those bonus tracks from the release, so they were still there in the raw data. How fortunate!

Munks <3
Thank you so much for sharing!
Or something of that nature.
I think I lost it, been trying to find it >_<
BUT! It's priceless to hear Alvin sing: "How do I get back there to / The place where I fell asleep inside you."
CLEARLY HE'S TALKING TO SIMON (velvet dress, red panties, and all...)
RED HOODIE MAYBE
I'd offer Simon my red hoodie, but something tells me he's already got one. Until Alvin takes it off, at least.
And realizing something. At the store I work at, they play a music loop, over and over, of the same songs. And practically every single of these songs is in that loop. No, every single one, i think. Shiny Happy People, Stand, I'm gonna be....those are burned into my brain. They're awesome songs, but hearing them over, and over, and over again, gah.
But in this new light, they're awesome again.
:D
;-; I'm sorry I HAVE RUINED YOUR WORKDAY
some of these are performed better than the original artists, too.
I'm a munk who doesn't know...
also:
Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dreams
Red, blue, and green. Red... blue... and green...
Oh god it's so corny, but still so cute. Thanks for posting this!
I think it fits most of the time though, haha
It always surprised me though that they're doing Culture Club covers now, but when the original show came out in the 80s, they stayed away from covering British bands.
I love those guys <3
They're awesome. <3 <3
Thanks for posting this.
How goes your quest to get all of the AATC Music? I'm hoping for a download link, and really hope I didn't miss it D=
