SWAT 4 problem.
I am attempting to run SWAT 4 on a laptop under Windows Vista, but it only works occasionally. Most of the time the little loading icon comes up for about three seconds and then nothing happens. I'm already running it in XP compatability mode. Does anyone know what might be causing the problem?
Also, is there anyone who knows where I can get new maps/weapons, or who wants to game multiplayer?

For new maps and weapons, you can try out the Sheriff's Special Forces mod: http://www.sheriffsdpt.com -- and of course, the official expansion: The Stetchkov Syndicate.
...For better or worse, it's not like in SWAT 3, where there were a hundred guns that were exactly the same. If you'd like some multiplayer, PM me with a time and place. :)
... If you don't have Aero and UAC on anyway then we're all doomed. c.c
What are Aero and UAC?
Other than that I'm not sure, a quick search is telling me the majority aren't having any compatability issues with Vista... Perhaps there's a patch to be had?
In order to get the best performance possible for DX10, Microsoft decided to ditch all the old code and start fresh for DX10. DirectX9 is there but only in emulation, so that games that use it (like UT2004) can run. Any other games that use DX8 or older, odds are they simply won't run, no matter how much they get tweaked.
Vista is known and notorious for not running the majority of the games on the market right now. And most likely they won't do anything to make it more compatible. The game industry will simply have to make their games more compatible for Vista...damn Microsoft -__-*
