Power Fail

And not of the electric company kind, either.
Seems my netbook's AC adapter broke. Again. The barrel where it plugs into the computer snapped off completely. My repairs to this point have been simple resolder the barrel back on, but when the insides broke off, I was about to admit defeat.
Another power cable saved the day, but the wires in it are less than ideal for carrying the full load power of the notebook. I don't know if 24-ga wire can safely handle 1.6A. At any rate, it's a very short run, so if it causes problems I'll just rebuild it again and directly solder the heavy wire to the new barrel.
Oy.
Maybe I should just buy a new adapter.
