My Music. A backstory
Some people in the past and recent and I amsure they will still ask how I got into singing these little parodies.
WAY back on Tapestries I used to run a little pet auction house. Every Saturday I had to announce about an hour before and periodicly until it started. I got bored and started making little musical diddies here and there to make people giggle. And it worked. I did that for about two years amidst people telling me to finish them and try and sing them.
I finished three. FanBoy Furry, I'm A Retriever, and Wasting Away at Anthrocon (Margaritaville) ... In the meantime I had moved from Massachusetts to the Dallas Texas area. A friend named Bit met me just to hang out a little and then the next time I went to meet him he asked if I wanted to head over to see Nexxus.
Nexxus and I became close friends pretty quickly once I got over the initial fanboyish 'holy shit it's the FurNation Guy' load of crap. Nexxus after helping him make books for the site, offered to get me out to Anthrocon to help and basicly pay my way. I headed out and in the smoking section of the Adams Mark there is a few furs and one guy with a guitar with two other furs singing backup.
I asked him if he knew Green Days Minority. He didn't. The other two did and started singing. I asked them to stop and started singing Fanboy Furry. (this is actually where the line in FurArtist came from ... sing all night in the smoking section with the hotel staff even paying attention) Everyone LOVED it. I knew right then I had to do something. I had to make more. I can't draw. I can write well but DAMN I can make people laugh. I had always been able to.
After singing my way through the con here and there I went out and wrote seven more songs and went to Oklacon with the CD Corsi INC Total Insanity on colored discs cheaply made. I nearly sold out. I drove back with Nexxus and on the ride home we discuddes the future of my music. A few weeks later we were having a few beers and trying to brainstorm. We came up with the band name Mousetrap and the idea for the CD name Evolution. Music being the next stage of the furry fandoms evolution. One song change on the list and alot of fun later and we went to Anthrocon again.
We sold I think 50 copies of the things and it's just snowballed from there. I have sung randomly at every con I have ever gone to. I am happier than I have ever been and I would love to get involved with sixtynining Gay Raccoons!
