Someone got an Admin's password, logged in, got root access, messed around, stole a bunch of people's private Notes and published them, took down a few galleries. They may or may not still have access.

There's a lot of blowup around the information in all those leaked Notes, and a lot of worry about the contining security issues on FA.

why are people leaving?

Some people are leaving because they're paraniod about security and their information being leaked out. Apparently people's personal information has been being spread across lulz.net and RL harrassment has begun.

Some people are leaving because they're sick and tired of Dragoneer only hiring incompitents to code the site, leading to one security disaster after another.

Some people are leaving because of how Dragoneer handled a potential rape victim approaching him for help and getting the brush off in the Notes that were released and not wanting to be on a site with someone like that as the owner.

Those are the three main ones, at least.

Yeah. FA's like Facebook, though. The social networking advantages outweight the problems with the people running it for 99% of the population. Assuming there isn't further blowouts over this..
