Peeps who follow my fat 'n' furry Twitter account will know I've spent the last few days collecting and refining data about the most popular fursona species (or "phenotype") in the furry fandom. It's been collected through WikiFur articles with the assumption that they present a representative cross-section of the fandom at large.
The article on WikiFur only lists the 30 most popular species and provides details on how the data was colleccted, I thought I'd put the full list here for... I dunno, because I find it interesting.

They're north america's only marsupial!
Also, squirrel and bat should be, like, in the top ten...ya know?
Either way, wuffamutes are actually their own separate species entirely. They're created under a full moon as the offspring between a male wolf and a female malamute once every 5 years. It's tough being the chosen one. :>
Some breeds are on there that I thought wouldn't be =x Marf, sad to see foxes and wolves so high still. I KNOW I shouldn't be surprised, but, yeah... And is it just me, or should I feel sad that Pokemorphs are so high on the list? Not saying they're bad, just, WOW.... And how haven't Digimon or Yoshis been listed? I know there aren't as many as Pokemorphs, but there's still a lot out there Oo I do not accept this furry list~
As I said way at the bottom of the list, any species not listed just doesn't have representation on WikiFur, they didn't show up to be counted, pretty much.
Man, bats came in at exactly 30. You beat out a lot of animals I thought would be higher (fuggin red pandas why). I think bats should be higher though. Much cooler then a lot of the ones listed before them~
