I bought a Slinky today.
18 years ago
I also seriously considered buying a few Lego sets, and maybe some action figures.
I think I'm having a mid-midlife crisis.
Slink, slink, slink ...
I think I'm having a mid-midlife crisis.
Slink, slink, slink ...
Particularly the Robotic Invention sets.
...I forgot how it broke too.
All slinkys break eventually! To build a slinky that doesn't break would be to TAMPER IN GOD'S DOMAIN.
Oh yeah, mine was just a plstic one. I could imagine the metal ones being more durable, but it might not be the case.
I suppose metal ones could get kinks in them more easily ... but that can be even worse than having a plastic one snap in half, perhaps. But I never really liked the plastic ones, regardless. They're ... unnatural.
I think my slinky didn't snap in half, just... stopped having the slinky shape. :/
Also was it a metal slinky or one of those awesome and disturbing plastic ones? I got a tied-dye blue slinky but it got stepped on somehow. -.-'
Also I dunno, the metal ones kinked so bad and then they were worthless ;.;
...*ducks*
Marf?
*runs* xD
He liked it though.. god were we that easy to please when we were that young?

The Technics are still useful and stuff but.. eh..
Like this truck, it's all decal'd and stuff and so it'd look crappy if it's rebuilt, stuff looking out of place x.x; Also alot of the 'body' is awkward custom pieces
Technics

PS: Technics were useful as hell, but even they got a little two specialized.. I only used them for the kickass pulleys and joints. :D
PPS: I have strong opinions huh? :D
...although I did play with robot legos a few times. Like last year in college. xD
God I talk alot..
bark bark bark yap yap yap.
:V
Oh yeah, about Lego's... it's probably the only memorable toy from my childhood. I used to have some lego train set too... dunno what happened to it. ^^;
God I miss my grand dad, I hope I am that awesome when I am old. x.x;
Hell I fixed my NES controllers which I thought for the longest time was broken. Seems like it was just some grime on the connectors inside the controllers...
MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW
THAT SOUNDS VAGUELY DIRTY!
dogs slinky'ing down stairs.. would be awesome!
...of course, she gets very aggresive when terrified by things so she will attack it after awhile. xD
Kinda funny how I grew up with dogs, never had a cat... but have one for fursona.
And that includes dracats.
Anyway! I had that giant van that turned into a city but god did that thing fall apart quick x.x;
Kept getting cars stuck under that mountain thing though.
I don't think I ever actually had any Micro Machines stuff, besides the cars and the carrying case. Lotta Hot Wheels/Matchbox stuff, though. Various tracks, car washes, burning buildings, etc. Oh, and a CONSTRUCTION SITE! With fake plastic dirt that had fake tire tracks in it that didn't match any of my vehicles.
.. I did have that damn construction set! What was up with that? I used to take it out back and put sand and water on top of it and make my own frickin tire tracks, which made sense.
PS: I was merely pointing out that amoung cats whom I enjoy the company of, you have never deserved to be hit.
PPS: ... yet.
PPPS: MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
PPP(OMG)PS: .. *ahem*
Zzzzz.
Wow, that's strangely cool! You could have grown up to be a CAPTAIN OF INDUSTRY! Or a ROBOT COWBOY FIREMAN ASTRONAUT! Or ... Shit, is it 1:30 AM already? What the hell am I doing up?
You know, HD players, home theater equipment, $500 video cards...
It took me a week to decide whether to buy a $60 MP3 player or not, even though I've got the money to obscure my kitchen table with PS3s.
So, if boys like blue and girls like red and pink, that makes a purple lover like me bisexual? Oh ho, I don't think so. =)
xD
ONLY FUN
I still have my legos. I swear, that ship I built is indestructible, It's been dropped, smashed, stepped on, squeezed, twisted, and it still hasn't come apart.
It's...like...eight years old...
On the other hand, it's about ten pounds of sharp edges and pokey parts that I can just throw at someone if need be.

But, I miss my legos. I want to see if I still have any of them somewhere, and then play with them. I usually made houses and cars, but I'd make the furniture, too...sofas, fridges, TVs, sinks, toilets--can never forget the toilets! ;) Although admittedly some things, such as the microwave, or a chest of drawers, were simply a brick of multiple blocks simply there to represent whatever it was. But it was so much fun. Oh! And the arcade was cool, too. that's where I used the random weird pieces that I wanted to use but didn't have a place for.
