Scanner reccomendations

Ssssooo. Things are looking up. I found a room around Greenlake in Seattle that I can barely afford, but that's gonna be pretty much everything in Seattle. It's just a few blocks from my favorite fish and chips place, and duh I can go read my books by the lake. And pack picnic baskets. Gotta say, I'm pretty excited about that.
Now, with my tax return of course I need to pay rent and junk, but I also need a scanner. I need a scanner rull bad. But uh, I don't really know anything. I know I need something with a bed bigger than the standard letter size crap. And um. I guess good quality would totally rule. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm afraid I can't recommend anything. I'm using a 3 in 1-unit by HP, but it's standard size. works pretty well, although HP managed to go microsoft on the new scanner/printer driver interface update for win7: bigger, more colourful, but worse to adjust/fickly to use. :P
would it have hurt them to keep the old interface just updated for win7?
