So my boss has explained his reason for rescinding my job...

Apparently I am overzealous and that is a trait he doesn't want in his workers. I for one do not understand what is wrong with an employee looking forward to coming to work every day and giving their all to a company. I am not overty ambitious in terms of wanting to change the company against the manager's directive nor do I aspire for power or money. I merely want to do all I can to help out. I enjoyed what I did.
Conversely he has hired many new workers who lack any motive other than greed. I'm referring to the kind of guys who wish to paid as much as possible for doing as little work as they can. Yes some of them are more experienced in the field but at what point does experience mean more than people with a willingness to learn?
In short it's a matter of which is more valuable to a manager: the experienced yet apathetic veteran or the the less experienced employee with dedication and drive, a purehearted interest in the field. Please comment as I want to see other people's opinions.

Sadly experience outweighs most in many areas, atleast from what I have noticed. Most will always chooses expereience because they do not want to put in the extra time and money for training. I've ran into that problem quite a few times. Many bosses don't care about their employees' love of the job, or willingness to learn. Many are just out to make money, which is understandable from a business/fimnancial point of view. Who would wan to run and manage a business if they didn't make money? However, this does not excuse poor hiring decisions. Lack of motivation from work staff can bring a business down. Especially when the employee feels that they can do VERY little and still get a check each pay period. Now, I'm not saying all employees are like that. Or all bosses are like that. But sadly it's how the cogs of the corporate machine turn. And eventually it will cause kinks. But you can always remove the hinderance or replace a cog.

OP
I'm not referring to employee's with no training at all... I meant employees trained for their own tasks and willing to learn other aspects of the business in their own time to volunteer to help out elsewhere.
