I hate myslef and the red cross ! :D
Because today, I wanted to give my blood to the red cross for the first time. And it's cool because as I know, I'm a universal donor !
But, when I saw the doctor, I asked her some information about AIDS and stuff "because I'm homosexual, so I wonder the risks 'bout them."
- Oh, sorry, we don't take gay's blood because it's too dangerous. I hope you understand"
- Oh ? even if I'm a virgin ?
- Sorry, no gay."
What I wanted to say :
YOU STUPID HOMOPHOBIC BITCH ! THERE IS NO FUCKING CHANCE FOR ME TO BE SICK IF I'M VIRGIN ! *slams the door*
What my cowardice allowed me to say :
I see... well... Good bye. *leaves*

- Sorry, no gay."
See, In the UK, we get given folders at the start of every donation with a list of do's and don'ts.
here if you've had oral or anal sex with a man, or if you're a woman, had sex with a man who's had oral/anal with a man, you cannot donate, By your own admission you have not, ergo you are still categorically able to give blood, unless it's different over there, what that nurse said breaks protocol and if you could have been botherd, you could have had fun making a fuss about it being discriminatory :P
either way, universal donors are always wanted, so i honestly don't see why they so willingly allow themselves to have blood shortages, personally i'm a universal donor as well, but they wont accept my blood unless i lie. But, nothing wrong with doing that, if you want to give blood, as long as you know you're healthy, you might as well.
Months ago I was able to donate to a friend in need BUT I had to lie about my sexual orientation (bisexual)... =/
I can't give blood, unfortunately. I want to, but because of some medical reason in the National Health Service that won't allow people who have had transfusions within the last twenty years or so to give any blood out because it might be tainted or something. I'm only 18, and I had been given a lot of blood as baby, apparently, so I wanted to repay the community. now I can't and it sucks.
but for you to be denied for a completely illegitimate hocus-pocus "gay cooties" reason is totally unacceptable! I'm flabbergasted that such a thing could occur in the modern world :S
In 2007, Roseline Bachelot (the french minister of healt) promised to open the donation to gays, but she confirmed the restriction in 2009. It was the same person that spoiled the money of the state in thousand useless "vaccines" against the swine flu. thank you bitch !
Especially coming from France, where homosexuality has been legal since 1791...I wonder how and why this radical law was put in place. :S
14% of the gay population is infected (0,1% for straights)
So we're just too "dangerous".
Security or not, being forbidden to help people because of something you can't control is insulting. I'll try again and shut me up about my sexual orientation, if I'm refused again, I'll punch the doctor in the face.
our prime minister is gay
still i am not allowed to give blood because i'm gay
