Hopes on Hold and a Death in the Family

Since I haven't posted a new journal for a long time figured I'd do it now.
1. We hoped to move and even packed most of our belongings. Well it's a year later, a second attempt at selling our home was another failure, so we have been forced to remain right where we are and my husband won't retire like he hoped. We'll try again when our last child graduates in two more years. Color me angry and sad but accepting what I can't change. I really hate unpacking but it will make us go through out stuff even more and get rid of more junk. The only positive things about this decision is we have a home that we have no problem paying our mortgage for, my husband has a job (even if my daughter can't find one), only a few bills, our health, and enough money to do what we want (mostly).
2. On the heels of this decision, we got me a new Dell Inspirion PC with 1 TB of memory and a new Canon printer so I can pursue my writing career. I also got a new camera for Mother's Day. A Nikon Colorpix S4100.
3. Bad news ruined my daughter's 21st birthday and my Mother's Day. My husband's mother died and we're all devastated. It was sudden but she was 87 so really not that unexpected. She was a sweet person and badly missed. We still went out on our daughter's birthday and celebrated. Her father flew out the next day for the east coast and she had her friends over for her second party with them at our home, a great success and helped to ease her grief. As for Mother's Day, well I'm going to see a movie with my girls and speak to my husband on the phone. He will be distraught since that is the day of the funeral, the burial is Monday. Wish I could be with him but had to borrow money just to send him. At least our oldest daughter lives nearby and will be by his side for this as she was for her grandfather, five years prior. We will truly miss his mother a lot as she dotted on her grandchildren as my mother does not.
4. On the writing front.....I've finished some stories and wrote some more new ones. Have 178 written on ff.net now. One Old Magic (a Harry Potter piece) has drawn over 17,000 readers and it has only 10 chapters. Wow!! My story arc, Wolves of Arcanus: Galactic Intervention is complete. Haven't started the second arc on it yet. Working on my young adult sci fi novel called Jentoren and attempted to finish my many open stories.
