Fright Night 2011

Ok, this got my attention thanks to a friend who sent me the link:

I must say, after seeing this I can't describe it better than all creativity has died. Those of us who are old enough to have experienced the original release or discover it on video in our teen years, will weep at this remake. Not only is the cast as daft as you can imagine, anyone who feels this this has potential, clearly was never touched by the era of filmmaking when special effects truly were special and even bothered with creating likable characters in their movies.
But most of all, the most unsettling part is that this remake trailer doesn’t not hold any sort of charm or appeal in the slightest possible way. That, kiddies, is quite an achievement.
So in closing, a fan tribute of the original movie.
Warning: It may not have CGI effects (thank god) and has memorable characters, an unique identity and it looks great from start to finish. It also includes Peter Vincent, the fearless vampire killer :3 :3
I guess today’s audience doesn’t need all that. So this is one for the days gone by:

Now the main character looks like a badass and his geeky sidekick seems to be figuring shit out.
Also. Vampires? In Vegas? Are you f-ing nuts? Honestly. I have LIVED there and I can safely say during the summer no living or unDEAD person would be in that STATE.
I don't think so...
He looks like a Criss Angel Las Vegas Casino Stage Act... Oh wait... I think I just figured out how he shows up.

For those with the stomach to view the "new" Peter Vincent.
Aren't you glad he wasn't in the trailer
And I like David Tennant....
He probably has better make-up than the vampires will
They can deny Guillermo del Toro to make At the Mountains of Madness but will allow one shitty remake after the other? Where's the logic?
That has nothing to do with the good old Fright Night i came to love long time ago.
No Vincent (which is the best thing in the original movie imho), No geeky guy, No subtle trama, Nothing worth seeing.....
*Sighs* I'm feeling old and feeling that the movie industry is going down and down with time.
Amanda Bearse and William Ragsdale actually looked like an average geeky teen couple (that looked 24) that would have dated. The new cast just looks like all post 2000 "slightly two notches below super model teen boy and super model girlfriend he could never obtain" teen cast :P
I weep for kids/teens that grow up watching shit like this and then will go on to make movies while remembering this crud.
"I'm going to remake Fright Night! Remember how moody and brooding Colin Farrel was in it? Yeah... I'm going to make him moodier... And Jerry's going to send passive aggressive notes to Charley telling him that he knows that Charley knows that he knows he's a vampire, but like... Whatever... See if I care... Oh, and CGI! We'll make Charley's nerd friend all in CGI!"
/facepalm
Very sad...
Am I supposed to believe McLovin' replaced Stephen Geoffreys??? ugh...
