I have one of those things from ELE. It's kind of annoying sometimes, though. Like when you lean forward, it swings and gets in the way sometimes.

The absolute and ultimate carry-all. A boyfriend! Then you can have him *make* those attempted phonecalls.

I know a few people who've sewn pockets on the inside of their sleeves or gloves, some even with zippers.

You could do what I do. For my character I have a plush acorn made by a friend which has a zipper sewn into it. I put what I want in the prop and basically take it where I go. This may not be the best option for very important stuff, I never usually carry my wallet in it, but you could as long as no one stole your prop. Its just an option, as opposed to a fanny pack or something and I am sure much more comfortable than in your undies.

Another possible option would be to have something sewn on the inside near the zipper or easy place to get to like a pouch for carrying stuff. Just another idea.

A small backpack. The prop idea is good too. Maybe carry. A bone or something of the sort. I was really happy with mine. Just pick a shape that is thematically appropriate.
