FA:U reportings of fun time and duty staff

General
Well FA:U is now over. Those three days where regular life disappears and all sorts of insanity seems to make sence all of a sudden. FA:U has a very warm place in my heart. Of all the conventions I have been too, FA:U has the most feeling of closeness to it. Almost like its a family reunion feel to it which is awesome. Tons of familiar faces and friends. Even new attendees are just the most amazing people.
I love being on staff for this convention, taking care of the fursuiters and making sure they have a good time. I have been reading some of the con reports and it makes me really happy to see that almost everyone had a blast! FA:U 3 last year was the first time I was staff of anything and I was really glad that everything went well. I took notes on a few issues, came up with solutions and added a few things this year. I happy to say things went pretty awesome this year but new issues will always pop up from time to time. Here are a few things I took notes on this year. Its a good tool to make sure next year gets even better.
The Headless lounge
The lounge was located in a different much larger room this year and more fans and blowers were added but despite the 2 air conditioning systems being cranked the room, it was warmer then the smaller lounge used the year before. I'll see what I can do for next year.
Towels were unavailable on Friday. I'm sorry for that. There was a mix up in communication with Hotel staff. I requested towels with a staff member but I dont think it was relayed to the right person. On a positive note the Hotel was generous enough to give all fursuiters free cake and ice cream for the mix up!
I was happy to see the snacks in the lounge idea was a big hit with the fursuiters this year. What shocked me was how fast the fruit went! I'll make sure to bring even more fresh fruit next year.
There was a little problem with the drink mix. By the end of the day the mix would get water in it and get kinda funky. I dumped the funky stuff out ever night but I could see it deterring anyone from using it during the day. I'm thinking of a way using some sort of shaker or despencer for next year so there no way for moisture to get into the mix.
The Fursuit Follies room
The follies room got better this year. Had the same items in there, just more of them but I added a computer in there with some jukebox software on it and some nice speakers. It was awesome seeing people using it and it made the room feel more like a party. Didn't really run into any issues this year.
Fursuit games
I changed the games up this year. The games were a bit more involved this year which caused me to have a 1 or 2 hang ups and made them run over by 30 min but other than that I think everyone had fun this year. No one got hurt too, which is always a good thing.
So there you have it, well from the staff side of things anyway. For me though I had an awesome time. I wasn't in suit as much compared to other conventions just because during the day there was a lot of set up and break down for certain things and it would have made things a million times harder trying to do those things in suit ha ha! During the evenings though I was free most of the time and hit was really great seeing everyone again. As always it made me really happy to put smiles on peoples faces when I was Fender. I can't wait for next year!

FA+

Think we can convince Neer to do an FAU every 3 to 6 months? xD
And you can tell the razer scooter and the bruise on my leg and ankle that it didn't hurt. Eh I'm not complaining. Battle/Game wounds are well worth the fun in the end. Nothing is broken!!!
I'll find some hotel or cardboard box to shelter me at AC.
