Another Decade Under My Belt
Looking back at this past decade, it has been such a trip. In 2010 I was still relatively new to the fandom and had no idea how much it would become a part of my life over the course of a decade. It has been the catalyst of my creativity that I didn't even know I had. From making videos, to artwork, to performing, to music, even public speaking, these are things I probably would have never attempted if it wasn't for the fandom. It truly makes me happy to see that what I do makes other people happy.
What has also taken me back over this decade are the number people who have told me that I was there inspiration and discovered furry through finding me on YouTube. This really honestly chokes me up every time I hear it because I know exactly how they feel. It was the same for me when met the people who inspired me to join the fandom. I never thought I would be regarded in that same way. It is truly flattering. The magical thing about this is it perpetuates and creates this snowball of creativeness. The people who I've inspired are now inspiring others. It is so amazing.
The fandom has put me in touch with so many creative individuals from all over the world and I have established some really amazing friendships over the years. There are even close friends in the fandom that I have now known for over a decade. I had even found love a few times in the fandom. Sadly it doesn't work out but I'm happy to look back on the good times. Its just crazy to think I would never have found anyone if it wasn't for the shared interest in anthropomorphism.
This past decade was full of things I never thought would have been possible. I have been in a music video, I took road trips all over the country for 50+ conventions, been on the news, appeared in newspapers, performed as a professional mascot, hosted charity auctions, I did voice over work, I was guest of honor, traveled internationally, I was even mentioned in an Adult Swim bumper, its just mind boggling! I mean, I even met Dragoneer and became friends with him at my first convention which led me to becoming the fursuiter for Fender, the mascot of this very site! Like that was such a huge huge honor! Never thought any of this would have happened over the course of a decade!
Also over the decade we have lost some really great people. It has become such surreal feeling knowing people I have met and hung out with in the fandom are gone. I don't know why but I never thought it would actually be a thing I'd have to deal with, as if the fandom is the protective bubble where no one ever dies. It really hits you hard. The memories do live on though and that is what is special about the fandom. No one is ever forgotten through all the lives they have touched.
So here is to a new decade and a new chapter. Lets get out there and live our lives exactly the way we want them! Be creative. Be inspiring. Be you!

I mean, look at this guy! :D
This fandom is a wild place, and I'm glad you've found a home in it. I'm thrilled to have had the chance to see you at Anthrocon and MFF this year, and gotten to talk to you a little beyond that, and I hope to see you around more in the future. Cheers!
Nice. I discovered the furry fandom and became a furry in this whole decade
