Listening with my eyes... what? Colour theory grahhhh

I'm still wrestling with value and colour theory. Sometimes, perhaps out of sheer luck I can get it to work. Usually though, the colours just lean out of the screen and stick their tongues out at me and refuse to work. I've been toying around with underpainting a bit and came across this post. Thought I might share it in case anyone else here suffers from a colour handicap too. :)

you might have seen this when I posted it on twitter the other day but thought I may as well post it here as it's relevant and I think the person who wrote it is on CA.org,
though do keep in mind it' rather advanced and my mind broke on the first few pages :P. Though it looked like it spoke more on my terms a few more pages in, will need to read in the future /ramble
