Just kidding, of course they don't give a fuck about their users, everyone knows it.
So recently I've saw my AV copybotted quite a few times; 4 times that I know of, but overall probably more.
Due to SecondLife's system, we sadly can't do much to stop the said copybot.
( No, the so-called "copybot protection" don't work, they can't ) Since I'm not fond of snaking into people's privacy I'll not use systems like red light or however it's called.
So recently many people reported me 2 people reselling my AV in the marketplace:
- One of them was reselling also other creator's AV and parts of av. It got removed fast. Actually it got removed extremely fast.
- The other is just reselling 1 of my AV, nothing else. A friend bought it to check and be sure. Wrote a bad review saying it's copied etc. on it.
And I filled a DMCA, normal you'll say. But no, yesterday we could see the review was magically gone.
On the marketplace, to remove a comment, you must either flag it and a Linden removes it. Or you must delete and re-list your item.
Since the item ID didn't changed, that means it was not relisted, so this review was removed by LindenLab.
Do you realise that LL actually helped that person to continue selling my copied AV?
It would have taken like 10 seconds to search and see this AV was not legit. Look up for "Fennec" they are BOTH right next to the other!!!
Well I think I'm allowed to be angry at some point.
It's now some days since my DMCA got sent, but honestly my previous DMCAs gave nothing concrete so I don't have much hope in it.
For LL it always "miss" information.
You could reasonably believe that being a premium would give you better support, you know with the live chat and such. NO!
There are 2 types of answers ONLY from the live chat:
- A copy/past from the knowledge base
- "Please fill a support ticket"
Feel free to save those 10$/month if you are able to search yourself in the knowledge base or if you know how to fill a support ticket.
More clearly: If you are not friend with a Linden, they'll not help you. Is that supposed to be fair? No, of course no but who cares in the end?

Here's hoping something crawls up their asses or into their ears and they start taking matters more seriously for players, especially their premium members.

I've never seen a premium account as being worth anything...I can just rent land on a private estate (which is better than the mainland or linden homes anyway) and make my L through DJing, and buy lindens if I really want something.
And yes that one item.
I was worried at first when I saw this journal, because I wear your fennec all the time, and there was someone that was caught copybotting in the place I hang out all the time. But it's not the same as the one I was wearing. However, it still outrages me. >:(
LL should be JUMPING to remove copybotted items and copybotters, because it takes away from all of the above.
Every now and then, someone truly talented comes along, such as Oken whose hard work and dedication adds to the enjoyment of SL for everyone else. LL should be using every righteous power in their book, to protect people like this.
All of the SL users who pioneer and develop new techniques, methods and businesses; who spend time, and money and dedication to Second Life.
These are the people who allow SL to expand as a concept, and should be looked after. Everyone should be treated fairly yes, but matters such as the above, should be treated much much more seriously.
Sadly, all we seem to be able to do is just talk about this. I've flagged the item in question (but for a stupid reason since LL only give stupid reasons to flag for). Maybe if everyone flags the item, LL might take some more notice? It's not a lot of help.. but at this stage, with LL being the way they are.. there does not seem to be much else to do.
