The issue I find is you can only buy a select few things online priced in bitcoins... YOU CAN however exchange it to real currency but it mentions NOTHING about the conversion cost and exchange rate fees.

The whole idea is it bypasses central authorised/banks and you do P2P transactions. This becomes pointless when you then have to go to the central authorities to exchange your coins to real cash if you need to pay rent, bills or many services/goods in the real world.

My suggestion is to use them if you know what you can and WANT to buy with them... That way you know you can say... Buy a certain game/book or whatever with the money you make.

I see your point, but at the moment i'm just interested in buildling up a stock for if/when it does take off and become widely excepted. If it doesn't, i've only lost some time drawing art for people xD

You could just build up a stock when it does hit off? Or support the good idea by planning what you want to buy with them n..n

Its like... Growing 1000 cabbages as a farmer and using a barter system to want 20 pigs for them, only to find out the seller only has 2 available :3

If you know what you can buy with them and how many... You may just grow 100 to get those 2 pigs and avoid unnecessary loss :B

But I won't be wanting to buy just some pigs, will I? I might want some chickens or a new roof. There is already a multitude of products and services purchaseable through bitcoins, and that number can do nothing but increase as more people hear of them, no? So even if I grow a thousand cabbages and end up getting disappointed by the number of pigs available, I can always spend it on other stuff, surely?

Indeed... I'm just saying imagine if you wanted to buy game xxxx but it wasn't supported... Best process to go through is:

-needs/wants identification
-choice search
-make choices
-do art
-pay for choices
