the only thing I know works is to just take a break. Forget about it for a little while and do stuff that doesn't require much thought, giving your mind a relaxation period

Yes but it's also been a bit and I need to get these done. x_x People did pay and I hate to make them wait.

I agree with the above poster... I've been in a similar situation with my Tales of the Divide series. T_T

I have actually the opposite advice. Go over what you have so far and make it good. Fill plottoles, perfect a character, those things. That helps me.

Yeah that's what I do. I create more depth in characters backgrounds, or fix total mistakes I made earlier. If you do it long enough it makes you want to get back to writing.

I usually wait for it to go away but if it is really bad i put my ipod on random play till it plays one song that will help me think. well this works for me ^_^;

try writing something other than what your going for, step away from the main vein of writing for a while and do something else. do descriptive writing from still life... or do what my creative writing teacher said...

that sentence made no sense whatsoever but I still had to think about the next word as I was writing. it was writing without preset subject, context, or plot.

think of it like a voice exercise for writers...

sometimes forcing the flow like that works to force the blockage.

it's not a magical fixal mind you, but try it, might do something for you.

I normally force myself to write, and as I go on, I get in the mood, and before I know it, the day's over and I've written nearly twenty pages, sometimes up to fifty pages!

I find that I can't write unless I'm...well, I don't really know how to put it.
