Streaming?
Hallo alles!
Hello everyone,
I'm just wondering what exactly "streaming" is. I see a bunch of posts about it in journals and submissions but I don't know what it means. Anyone care to enlighten me?
BTW I might open up a commission or two if anyone is interested. G-XXX. Sketch, trad or digital(when I get a new tablet).

My family is German/Jewish German and no one bothers to speak it at all anymore here. I really do appreciate the critique and you taking the time to explain my mistakes.
I was not sure what to use for an equivalent for the 'G-XXX' ratings in Deutsch- I wont use the FSK rating again though. ;) Do you know if there is a slang that is used for those kinds of terms that would be better?
I checked on the Wacom website and in some places in the German they use "Tablets" and in in others "Tablette". I'll be sure and use Tablets from now on.
Thanks again for giving me some help. Next time I post a journal entry if you have some free time please feel free to come pick it apart!!
Like I said above, in German we usually differ only between jugendfrei - which roughly means (legally) accessible to minors - and its negation, nicht jugendfrei. If things are still jugendfrei, but recommend or require a certain minimum age in your audience, as it's the case with board games or the publications in child-literature, or certain youth protection laws which gradually decrease a youth's legal restrictions as they reach adulthood with 18 years, a brief ab __ (Jahren) often suffices. You just fill the blanks with the minimum age you think is suitable. But when it comes to paintings or photography the jugendfrei terminology should often enough suffice. Or you state the topic which in the cases of Erotik (erotic), Pornographie (pornography), or Gewalt (violence) imply already that your work might not be suitable for minors of all ages. Nudity in itself is open to debate as the everyday nudity practiced by nudists or the nudity of children who just like to frolic in the nude is often not being subjected to youth protection measures in Germany, although there are some perverted moralists who consider certain poses and the mere existence of any exposed body part as an invitation to having sex, and as such they are trying to make nudity a real mine field with the new buzz-word aufreizend. Aufreizend (roughly meaning arousing) is an entirely subjective measurement, that cannot be properly defined and standardised by any law. But these moralists still try to put it into new laws which govern sexuality, turning these laws into elastic clauses that could turn anyone into a sex offender in accordance to such vague legal definitions.
A lot of translating can also be done by saying what you want to say in different words. This is kind of the next step after the literal translation, the reshaping of your thoughts to make them sound typical for the language you use them in.
You could therefore say, that you are willing to draw anything what people ask you to: Ich bin Willens Alles zu malen, was ihr wollt..
You could then add a couple of exceptions: Ich bin Willens Alles zu malen, was ihr wollt. Außer.... Following the word außer you list all the stuff that's too weird for you in accusative case - no pun intended.
If you don't have any negative reservations on certain subjects, you strongly emphasize on the anything / Alles part: Ich bin Willens Alles - aber auch wirklich Alles - zu malen, was ihr wollt.
And instead of trying to wedge Commission in there somewhere in order to imply that you do it for money, you say, that of course you're doing it for money in the following sentence: Für Geld natürlich. or Für Geld, versteht sich.
You can still put Commissions into your journal header, so that they know that you're talking about arting for money.
Tablette is a term of homonymy in German. I forgot to mention that yesternight because I stayed in singular and forgot about plural forms.
Tray | Das Tablett (sg) - Die Tablette (pl)
Pill | Die Tablette (sg) - Die Tabletten (pl)
The English plural "-s" is also gaining in frequency in the Plural of Tablett independently of the introduction of art tablets.
I myself didn't know about art tablets when some of my English friends enthusiastically mentioned them about six years ago because I initially thought of an old-fashioned tray/board on which traditional artists try to mix the right colour tones before applying them to their canvas, and was as such quite baffled when I heard how much money my friends paid for them because it just didn't make sense in my head.
I can understand why a lot of Jewish German families have stopped using German altogether, since it became the language of [their] murderers to them, and they were wishing to cut all ties to Germany and the German language to better cope with the genocidal horrors which had been committed against them.
It was really nice of you to take the time to no just let me know the mistakes but also to give me a lot of information to be able to now go back and try to re-write my first attempt not only more properly but also more 'natural' to the language.
It's one think to try and learn from a book or even a professor who is not actually German- but what you've told me about how subject matter is handled is not only something not in textbooks but also something I certainly couldn't ask a teacher! Thank you so much for taking the time to clarify and give me some of the cultural info.
I know accusative case is something I find to be very difficult in forming my sentences properly- and I also know it makes a huge impact in how understandable your German is. I think even more so than in English.
Ahh so the word which I used for tablet is more like the English term 'palette'.
And it never occurred to me to even consider the term 'tablet' as in the sense an antacid tablet of medicine when I tried to translate!
Thanks again for the help! I'm excited to give my journal entry another shot.
