nuzzleI started this several days back and I had fun seeing it spread viral-style, but it was never meant to be a secret. Here's an excerpt from a message I wrote in response to a viewer expressing interest in this new development:
"I've been considering starting a second account for a month or so. Since passing the one year mark here on FA, I looked over my first submissions and realized how far I had come in terms of skill, and realized I was probably ready to begin adult work. When I'm just drawing non-sexual cartoons and doodles, I don't care so much about the anatomy of the characters. However, since pornography is so heavily connected to the enjoyment of the body's form, I did not feel like I could attempt adult work competently until recently.
There was always sex in the Redacteurverse, but I just never drew it. I'll keep the same warmth and care in my drawings that I always try to convey, except now my characters will be expressing themselves fully. I also wanted to begin adult works because I despise the mentality of sex being "naughty," "dirty," or worse of all, "sinful." I don't want people to think that I avoid sex because of those things; it's because I just didn't have the skill to render their bodies in a sexually compelling fashion. Plus, I want to perpetuate scenes which depict healthy sexual activity among willing and loving participants... In a way, I'm broadcasting my own little utopia."

what's the point of this anyway? yes, everyone knows you don't like porn, you certainly make sure to make that clear every chance you get. you say you're sex-positive, but trying to incite shame over relatively benign depictions of sexuality is pretty sex-negative. it's perfectly fine to not want to look at porn, but your attitude about this has just time and time again rubbed me wrong. i don't think you're a bad person or anything like that since the only times i've really observed or interacted with you have been in the context of this one issue, and i don't want either of us to go away with a grudge or something like that.
that being said, i think you need to cool it a bit and maybe think of how people are going to interpret and react to the way you express yourself, because i have seen almost uniformly sour responses whenever you pitch in your two cents on this. those sour responses are, in my opinion, usually due to either your rhetoric or how you present yourself, not just because you have an unpopular opinion.
a thousand times yes. so many people's lives can be improved just by realizing this.

The fact of the matter is that I don't like furry porn specifically, and its disheartening to see yet another artist I enjoy hop that train. I don't have any issue with those that produce or consume the stuff, but its tough to see so much emphasis being put on porn in this fandom. I was just expressing my resignation with nothing more than an emoticon.
You'll probably overlook this or twist it into more evidence of my non-existent prudery and ongoing crusade against sexuality, but at least you have the opportunity to hear my side of this. PM me if you want to talk further, I don't want to clutter up this journal more than I already have.
Being sex positive means being positive to ANYONE who expresses their sexuality, and your SIGH DISENHEARTENED at yet another artist doing what they ENJOY SEXUALLY while harming no one is not sex positive. IF you truly didn't like it and are TRULY sex positive, don't say anything to them! It's not that hard! In fact, it's easier not to post, silly!
Listen, I love porn. And I'm ok with people who don't! I don't go around in nonporn stuff going DURP PORN WHOOPTEDOO, and my porn not-liking friends don't go UGH PORN SIGH SIGH SIGH on my porny things. It's a mutual respect deal, and being sex-positive (I've been in the social justice sex-positive scene since the mid 90's, so I know my shit a bit) means being respectful of other's tastes. Yes, it's frustrating being the one person who likes/dislikes a thing in a world of those that do/don't, but being snide to those that do/don't won't help, especially when it's inconsequential.
Focus your energies on other things, and don't spend so mch time complaining about that which you won't fix. Trust me, I wish there were more of my favorite porns all up ins by other artists but I don't complain about the lack of it because who cares? I like something other people don't, but it's not an important thing! And you dislike something other people like, but it's not an important thing. Take that frustration and be constructive with it! Make more art, write more, go to a protest or anything! That's what I do when I'm frustrated over the inconsequential!

okay, folks are losing their calm here, and i don't wish to see them be verbally unkind to you. maybe a habitually uncourteous guy deserves more courtesy than this too. though, it seems like "nerves were touched," so i'll just step aside, and hope for the best for everyone.
(may i also say under my breath: my buddy redact here is split his account to two just to be polite to folks like you! also, showing erotic preference is one of the most private/personal things, so a "meh" feels like a mallet to a toe!).
