Since the plans for a SoFurry 2.0 beta have been discussed, I've been debating uploading my stories there. I started at Yiffstar, and that was my home. The shift to SoFurry disheartened me. I uploaded a few stories, but I really didn't like the new site. Now that the new beta is launched, I'm so excited and can't wait to start uploading. Of course, since it's a beta, I'm perfectly content to wait until it's no longer a beta (and I have no idea when that may be). But I'm excited.
Because SoFurry has stricter regulations for posting stories, I'm going through The Bestiary to see which stories are too human, and making them more furry. A Bao A Qu was the first to get altered. While I was in there mucking around, I couldn't help edit some of the more vague or confusing parts of the story. Hopefully the updates will make it a bit easier to follow.
Please check out the newest version of A Bao A Qu or Tentacles of Nirvana.
***This REPLACES the version in the gallery. The older version has been uploaded into scraps.***
Aardvark will be the next to get a touch of furry. I've been percolating ideas for the endeavor, and plan to work on that soon. Depending on how long it takes for the new SF to launch, I may edit a couple of other stories.
In the meantime, the next Bestiary story is a bit slow to come out (one of the reasons I did some editing). It's just creepy, and sometimes it's hard to get in the right mindset. It's fun because it's challenging. I've never done a story like this so I'm trying to pull from what dystopian dark themes I'm familiar with, and go from there.
Thanks to everyone who reads, and an extra thanks to those who comment. I appreciate the effort you take to let me know what you think.
Hugs and loves to all my watchers. Wow! I'm over 500 now. Thanks for showing interest in my stories.

FA+

I've heard about Sofurry myself. Mostly not good things. But hopefully the Beta move means good results for you guys.
My main reason for even considering mirroring my work on SoFurry is because regardless of what people say, SoFurry has the largest reader base. No matter how much art they have, my work still gets more traffic than FA.
Now, FA has always been a pooper to get readers for; people know this is where the art is, so people gravitate toward the art. It's not exactly designed for stories, and that makes it harder for both readers and writers alike. SoFurry has been a writing hub since it was Yiffstar, people know that's the place to read, and that sort of word of mouth is hard to break. The updates they've made for reading stories, is greatly improved over Yiffstar. Plus, it's still a beta. Beta's are works in progress designed for public testing and revision. It takes time.
I also don't care about the quality of stories anymore and the fact that there's no review process. I did, but it's not coming back, so I've given up on the whole endeavor. I'm going to make my stories the best they can be, and just keep writing. I will set my own goals and standards for my writing path, and hope everyone follows their own.
Really every site has their problems. FA's far from perfect, but these sites are free. I can put up with a lot to reach out to readers -- especially when I don't have to shell out a dime for the privilege. The fact that we live in an age where this is possible is profound. I'm so grateful that I have options, and to the people who've made it a reality. Without them, there'd be no place for either of us to go.
Didn't mean the rant at you Sirdan, it just sort of came out. I guess I see many sides in regards to the YS to SF switch, but in the end, I'm just going with the flow. ^^
And as true you are for Every site being near perfect, I agree with you on that too. If anything I'm just more comfortable with FA's layout. Which tends to make it a standard for me when it comes to other sites. Which can be both a good and bad thing.
Overall, I just wish you the best with the recent move. Hopefully your reader base gets an increase of traffic soon. Good Luck and you have my support.
