Back from FWA and my trip to Florida. The whole experience was exactly what I needed on many levels. I was able to meet some wonderful people, see areas I've never been before, and be someplace warm. Oh! The warm was so nice. I feel like I got a jump start on spring – only to return to the ever changing seasons of Colorado (It actually snowed when I was out for D&D Thursday night). It's sort of like Jack Frost doesn't wanna give up his job just yet, so he keeps chasing Spring off every evening until mid day. Makes me miss the warmth so much. Even warm rain!
Overall, FWA was fantastic. The weather was nice in Georgia, the air was good considering my experience with large downtown areas is pollution riddled (ie California and New York – seriously, Manhattan smells like steaming body garbage in places, and the humidity just makes everything sticky. California smells better, but it's murky), even Florida surprised me in that respect. Though I'm glad I went in early spring, and not summer. I don't think I'll like summer out there. Regarding the con, it was rather relaxing, with much of my time spent hanging out with HTH Mods,
amaracolcanis (who I've known since high school) and streetpassing. I gots all the streetpasses! It was glorious! Fortunately the hotel had tons of plug stations, so I could keep myself charged no matter what. There wasn't much in the way of panels I was interested in – but I'm not one for panels really. I go for the artists, the dancing, the fursuits, and socializing. I didn't take pictures. I'm still not used to taking pictures on my phone. It was also really neat to go to a furry con in a city outside of Colorado, and it certainly made me understand how much fun it can be to have a room at the con. Something I'm seriously interested in for RMFC. I'm not sure if I'd be able to find people to room with, or go on my own, or what. Luckily RMFC is around the end of summer, so I have time to figure things out.
To my delight, the warm Florida weather gave me an opportunity (and desire) to write again. After a medication-responsible 2013 of practically no writing, it's so good to get that writing muscle going again. It was also fantastic to be around other writers that I respect, and get their perspectives on things. For me, that was some of the best parts of my trip, even though I didn't do as much, just being around new personalities and thoughts was invigorating. I want to do that more often, it's been too long since I've really been able to speak with writers about writing in conversation. Am I close to posting something? . . . Not really. I posted a silly poem on Twitter (yup I'm on Twitter now) a couple of months back about foxes and boobs. Why isn't it in my gallery? Well I need more icons. Frankly, I need to find someone(s) to commission writing icons for. I actually have a long list of things I need – and the ability to pay for them.
Right now, I want a complete alphabet set for my Bestiary series. Which is mythical animals forming the shapes of each letter of the alphabet. So far I only have 'A' because I started the project alphabetically. But I'm not sticking with that at all, so I need a full set of letter icons. I am open to getting them all done by different artists, mostly because I really want them to look different. It's just finding artists who are open, willing, and with the skills I want (if you've seen my favorites gallery, that's a great example of my standards and what I'm looking for when I commission an artist).
After that, I need some simple Icons to use for when I post shorter works like flash stories and poems. That's roughly about 30 icons I need made. My biggest problem is that not many artists are open for Icon commissions, or if they are, it's faces or body parts – not exactly what I'm going for – so I have to really sit down and go through my lists and see who's available and interested. I'm open to suggestions regarding Icon artists.

Also best of luck with the Bestiary project. I so can't wait to read more of your works. ^_^
