Xenoblade Chronicles

Well, I'm a day late but I've finally got this game. I've played through the first hour or so and here's my initial impressions of the game.
It is good, really good. For starters it's probably the most visually impressive game on the Wii I've seen thus far, granted it's not super hi-def next generation but it's undeniably pretty to see the vast expansive countryside. The combat is engaging, it's a little confusing at first but you eventually get the hang of it after a while. The story looks intriguing, though I've only seen a tiny proportion of it, and so far there aren't any characters that irritate me yet which is unique for a JRPG. The visual style is fundamentally Japanese, with the bright colours and ridiculous outfits everybody wears but at least their hairstyle is plausible.
So yes, I would recommend this game. It should appeal to both Western RPG fans and JRPG fans alike as it mixes gameplay and visual elements from both.
Oh and 'the Monado' is the most ridiculous name for a sword I've ever heard, it sounds like an exotic fruit the middle classes eat.

OP
Bah, it makes no sense, they've already translated it into English and given it proper English voice acting so it's just a matter of converting the game into whatever system you use over there.

I know, it's frustrating. I mean they can't use the 'no market for it' excuse like so many did back in the 90s with RPGS/J-RPGS
