Understood--I'm working on a drawing which I've been refining over the last several days, and I'm still stuck on the face. I keep erasing features and fine-tuning them until I can back away and say "Perfect!" I even reverse it and hold it up to the light to see if the proportions of the features are correct when viewed in reverse. Editing while you work vs. getting the whole thing down on paper and correcting afterward is the difference between a perpetually third-finished or half-finished drawing and a completed work. Same goes for writing, etc... Those who can charge through beginning to end and get stuff done, worrying about mistakes after the fact, are blessed--they're never psychologically dogged by the idea that most of their work is stuck in "development hell"...
