Yipee!! *strews confetti around the room*

As you can tell, I'm feeling a lot better. My mother came for a visit this past weekend. She brought me a HUGE basket full of wonderful goodies, treated us to dinner and lunch the following day at two delicious restaurants, and bought us some lovely gifts at the mall and treated us to a night of glow-bowling. Spoiled? Me? NEVAR!!! XD

But it did the trick and lifted my spirits. I'm feeling a lot better now and am getting quite excited about the 7th. It looms ever nearer now and his family called us yesterday from Holland to coo and fuss and wish us many blessings for the New Year. They are so excited to be having me in the family, even if I'm an ocean away. It makes me all squishy inside to think about it. His parents are such good people and I'm so honored that they think so highly of me. ^__^

Steph came over the other day and we spent the evening drawing and having strange, fun conversations about furry porn and my strange obsession with drawing penises and what animal combination would make for the strangest furry porn... good times, right? I think it's the first time my Mate has seen me that candid about my furriness outside of a convention setting. I'm proud of him. He just laughed and joked right back with us and even offered a few suggestions of his own. What can I say? I'm his luvably weird lil wuffer girl and I guess he's more comfortable with that than I gave him credit for. ^__^

I'm just about done sketching out my artwork for Ebony Tigress  ebonytigress I really hope she likes it as I have enjoyed putting it together for her so far. Putting the scales onto her Mate, Kifall, has been the most challenging part for me. I've never done detailed scale-work before. So it's been rather time consuming because I've had to start over a couple of times. But I only have his neck and tail left and then I can start inking them in. Fun stuffs!! I think I may combine acrylics and colored pencils for it. How exciting!!! I can't wait to share the finished product.

Speaking of finished products, I could kick myself for not at least sending my ink sketches home with Steph. Oh well... you stay up until 4am or so and all sense and logic tend to turn to pumpkins long before then. I blame myself for not calling my Furry Godmother and asking for a time extension. Perhaps I can get them snuck in the next time Steph has time for company. It's just difficult because we work schedules that often have one working while the other is off work. Hmmm... well I'll make a more concentrated effort to get it done, regardless.

So my New Year's Resolution? To continue expanding artistically, to lost my extra Holiday fluff around the waistline, to love my Mate unconditionally (probably the easiest of my resolutions XD) and to attend at least one other convention beyond OklaCon. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for FWA in February. If any of you are attending, I'll make sure and post whether or not I'm going. You'll HAVE to look me up!! :D

Anywho, that's my outlook thusfar for 2008. If the first day of the New Year truly is symbolic of how the rest of it turns out, I'm doing alright so far. Here's hoping the trend continues!!
