Holiday Doldrums... boo...

I.N.S. ~ Inconsequential Nonsensical Scribblings
No scanner for me. Damned thing's busted. ; - ;
Sorry I didn't come back around to say so sooner. Been hella busy as of late. Unfortunately, production on my commissions has slowed due to some of my more commonly used markers drying out. >.< Nevertheless when the holidays are over and money isn't so darned tight, I will throw myself whole-heartedly into getting them finished. For now, I've been picking around at the ones I can work on until I can get my markers again.
This month especially has been an emotional drag. My favorite fish, Lem, passed away recently. He was a beautiful little Labidochromis Caeruleus, or electric yellow cichlid if you know them by their common name. This one looks like a duller version of him: http://www.zierfischclubbremen.de/l.....-caeruleus.jpg Had him since he was about an inch long... about 3 years. Cichlids are aggressive fishes, so I kept him in his own lil 10-gallon aquarium with towers of real rock to roam around in. He was about 4 inches long and had the prettiest coloring. I called him my little attack fish because he would come out and flash his fins at you until he realised how much bigger you were than him, then he'd fly back behind his little rocks and peer out at you. It reminded me of a dog barking at you from the relative safety of its doghouse. :) So since I gave him the three-flush salute, his tank has been dark and empty. *sigh*
Also I came to find out one of my old co-workers whom I loved like a grandmother had a severe stroke last week. We worked in the kitchen together at a rehabilitation center and she used to love it when I'd be back there, singing in the kitchen. :) Always called me her girl and defended me a few times from some wrongful accusations. Sweetest lil old black lady with bright purple hair you would ever meet. When I'd go home to visit, I'd always try to swing by my old workplace and say hello. Well this last time I went to visit, I decided not to go see her. Figured I'd catch her the next time around. But there won't be a 'next time' now. Gloria is completely paralyzed on her left side and won't be able to go back to work. I asked my mom to send her a card and a singing teddybear to her on my behalf since I cant afford to go down to visit. The bear sings Santa Baby... my favorite Christmas song to sing back when I worked there. I hope it reminds Gloria of how much I am thinking of her and wishing her the best right now.
*SIGH* ... well enough whining... back to commission talk.
I've been holding out on laminating what I have completed because I really really think I might be getting a laminator for Christmas that works a lot better than the one we took to the con. Crossin' my pawpads on that! Still need to go buy a bundle of 11x14 canvas boards to start painting, but I have the preliminary poses sketched out and I think they will work well in the acrylic medium. I'm really excited about getting it all finished. I'm sorry to everyone for the long wait. My financial situation has been putting a lot of stress on me and I've not been too terribly inspired because of it. Plus its the season for social schedules to get all out of whack anyways, right? Holidays are such a drag like that. : /
Nevertheless, here is a current listing of the status of my commissions:
