people make me sick

Hit the motherfuckers with the dance routine! i'm sorry but i can't get along with people because i seem to the be the only one who sees fault in everything they do. people are a fucking plague; and yet its the rats and so-called vermin who get the short end of the fucking stick. people just don't fucking care. if it isn't a dog, or a cat, they don't give a fucking shit. and i'd just like to know how people can look at one form of life and deem it more important than another. how can anyone fucking do that?
i have a great aunt that lives in west virginia.
once when i was younger i went to visit her with my mom and my grandmother.
i remember walking up to her house and seeing a little golden retriever puppy outside of her house.
it was dirty, underfed, and it was covered with flies. had i gotten closer, i probably would have seen it was covered in fleas as well.
we went into my aunt's house and there was a pug. a full grown female pug. she was well-groomed, had been fixed, and was happy and parasite free.
my mom asked about the golden retriever puppy outside.
my aunt replied that people had been stealing their stuff in the night, and she got the dog to guard the place.
then her son came in with a laundry basket and a field mouse he had caught. he said it was acting funny. my aunt said that the parasite repellers were probably messing up its brain. she poked it in the head. it didn't move. it just stood there looking dazed.
i walked out of the house, as my aunt told her son to go and squash the mouse on the porch.
now some of you might say that was just my family. some of you might say that it was nothing.
and some of you might be fucking cunts.
that mouse. that puppy. those are fucking LIVES. and to me, A LIFE. IS. A LIFE.
live-feeding your snake is fucking cruelty. PLAIN. AND. SIMPLE. if anything, it is dangerous to the goddamn snake. rats can, have, and will inevitably kill a fucking snake. and what will be that rat's reward for overcoming a dangerous predator? probably will be crushed beneath a boot.
how can you fucking people call yourself a furry? when a rat is 'just food' to you? well a snake is 'just food' to something else. and you are 'just food' to a lion or bear. so that sort of logic doesn't fucking pan out for me.
there is NO EXCUSE that you can give me that will make me okay with this. ever. there is nothing that anyone can say that will convince me that this barbaric and unnecessary practice is okay. so don't even fucking try. and if you think that it's okay, well unfuckingwatch me this instant. i don't want you people enjoying the pictures i post of my babies. those fucking rats are my PETS and you would all flip your shit if people were feeding chihuahuas or kittens to a python.
i'm just done. i wash my hands of people.

I guess I've been conditioned since I was little to think of certain creatures as pests because I lived on a farm, but only when they made themselves such. Rather than smashing mice, we took them far from the house and let them go usually. They do tend to ruin food stores and such when they can get into them. I don't blame them and I don't think they're lesser forms of life, but I'm also not gonna let them pig out in my pantry.
The story you related about your aunt, though, really made me feel sick [which sucks cause I'm already sick]. :/ How she could treat that golden retriever like that when she HAD another dog. I don't get how that distinction gets made. Not to mention the field mouse, that's just...sick. It's one thing to give a diseased animal a merciful death and it's quite another to just go around stepping on them because they're an inconvenience. Reminds me of that woman who stepped on a kitten with her high heels. Uuuuugh.
At any rate, a rat/mouse is not just food or just a pest to me, but sometimes they are food and sometimes they are pests. It's completely situational, but a life should never be diminished.
I personally find them rather cute and used to enjoy petting the ones my friend kept as pets [WHEN THEY WEREN'T BUSY POOPING ON ME], though I've never had mice of my own. I would not trust my cats around them, even if they were secured safely in a cage. :P Cats are crafty.
but people don't care. it's 'just food' to them and it makes me want to punch something and cry.
People tend to get snakes [and certain other more exotic pets like sugar gliders] because they're "cool" but don't ever do any research on them. :/ Bleh.
and then someone posted about how she would never feed him to her snakes because he was all skin and bones and wouldn't be healthy for her snake
turns out she's a complete psycho and so is her husband. they called me a troll and kept screaming 'rats are just food' when i discovered that she had posted a pic of a rat about to be eaten by her goddamn snake.
Yeah, some people are just super crazy.
Im replying to this because i dont feel it is fair to call me less then "furry" because i believe in a natural way of feeding snakes and other live feed reptiles
I have been surrounded by animals my entire life, being native american, ive been blessed with being taught to respect animals and to love the beauty and power they hold... my family has had snakes and other meat eating reptiles for longer then ive been alive, not only snakes and reptiles, but a various zoo of creatures, 90% of which we have rescued from shelters or even straight from the source of their abuse or abandon... i have had MANY rats and mice over the years, at the same time, ive also had snakes that we live fed... you can't just feed a snake dead rats, a lot wont accept them, especially if you have rescued the snake from someone who has raised them with live food... there are snakes that are raised on dead rats, and that is dangerous to feed those particular snakes live rats... it is something of beauty when one animal gives its life to another animal so it can continue living, an appreciation of that is COMPLETELY different from someone who just think feeding a snake a live rat is "cool" i am NOT that person and i feel outraged being placed on the same level as those people
I have been considerably furry my entire life, since i was very young... i learned of the furry community about 12 YEARS ago, and ive felt at home with this community since... ive had things that i dont like about specific aspects of the community, but that goes with any community...
I know your distain is a generalization to anyone who live feeds, im not asking you to reconsider your opinion, im just defending myself because im upset that im being considered a horrible person, i am not a cruel and sadistic when it comes to animals, to people, yes, but not to animals...
Im not expecting a positive response from you, you are standing by your opinion, and i will stand by mine, i am not a horrible person and i most definitely consider myself furry, my respect, appreciation, and love for animals will always be higher then what i hold for humans
and i just do not believe that there is anything natural about a snake in a glass box in your living room. at least in nature, a rat would have a chance of escaping from its predator. but people who live feed do not give the rat any chance at all of escaping.
Your opinion, while i dont agree with it, doesn't change how i feel about you or your art, as it shouldn't
I am a very emotional person and im not afraid to speak my mind and i can appreciate that you do the same :)
