I feel so out of place, hollow
alone in an empty sky
A girl no one takes the time to know
to question or wonder if she cries

So quiet and reserved
wanting to reach out
So much silence occurred
and internally I shout

I can't find a voice
in a sea full of people
I feel I have no choice
So silence is my steeple

And they look on me asking
questions--what my opinion is
I bask in self-rejection
I can't help but be like this

My answers ache to leak out
my mind knows the way
But I am always silent in a crowd,
always having so much to say

So I quiet all inner voices
telling me just to speak
I relish in my choices
my voice always sounds so weak

I wonder why I'm like this--
asphixiated vocal chords
It always leaves me so pissed
I'm quiet all throughout class
until I walk out the door

someone different.
