Hey everyone. For those that might be curious, I will not be attending MFF 2011 for a couple reasons. 1) I can't afford it. The money left over from College finally dried up back in June and I've been living paycheck to paycheck since without much ability to save up; which brings us to reason 2) I have a job..finally. I got hired as a prep cook and dishwasher at a restaurant in Peoria called Tilted Kilt back in August. I work there 5 days a week thursday-monday which well..is exactly when the con is. I didn't feel I've been there long enough to have the balls to request essentially an entire work week off. It sucks that I'm not going because honestly it's been one of my favorite things to do every year for me and my friends. With that said, I've resigned myself to the fact that it's not gonna happen this year. HOWEVER; barring me being unemployed and poor next year; I'm going to start saving up for MFF 2012 as of my first December paycheck, giving me just barely less than a full year to put money aside. Also, by that point I will have been working for the restaurant for over a year therefore I wouldn't have any problem asking for that kind of time off. Anyways, I hope those of you that do attend have tons of fun; it's really an awesome convention; and those of you in a similar situation to myself? We'll just have to chat it up and keep each other company that weekend, hehehe.
