My mind has opened up.

I had a strange moment today. I don't know what happened, but I can tell you what I saw. I was about to wash my hands after going to the bathroom, and I had this weird feeling. I turned on the faucet and for a moment, a very small fraction of a second, I didn't see a faucet. I saw what a faucet was. I saw it as a technological marvel, as a beautiful piece of inventive history. I saw an innovation that changed the world. I have moments like this every once and a while, and next time I have one I will make a journal about it.

it is indeed. not everyone these days even notices the marvel plumbing is. but the faucet really raised the utility of the water delivery infrastructure a whole nother order of magnitude.

I know. I sometimes just notice things that normally nobody thinks about.

I love those moments. My favorite was driving down the road at 70mph and realized how amazing it is that we have the technology to do that and everyone is able to work together enough that we don't crash every time we go on the road.
