On the accuracy of paper cutting. (stupid rant)

HOLY SHIT WHY
I just spent about 2 hours trying to cut a 19x24 inch piece of Strathmore 300 Series into a 19x19 inch square. I wasted about 5 pieces of paper. Come to find out, It's not the same width on both ends. There is a difference of about 2-3 millimeters between the two short ends of the paper, and this difference is infuriating! Luckily, the paper is a little over 19 inches by about another 2-3 millimeters, so I thought I could just measure it as 19 exactly, and cut the extra bits off, which would remove the difference in width when measured from one side. WELL IT DIDN'T WORK. So now I'm just gonna spend the rest of the day in a bad mood. I submitted a query to the Origami Forums to see if anyone there knows, so maybe that will come through for me. I love origami, but sometimes I just need a fucking break from it.
