Surgery went well. (Sharing experiences, join in.)

The last time I had surgery I was too young to remember the whole experience, so this was pretty new to me. I was out for three hours, but it felt like less than a second. The first thing I did was ask the nurse if my surgery was over, then I closed closed my eyes. I asked her about four more times after that. for some reason I didn't believe that what was happening wasn't a dream. I fought my drowsiness as hard as possible, being as cheerful as I could, waving at anyone who looked in my direction. Well, it wasn't a wave as much as it was just a hand lift. The first thing I did when they wheeled me back to my room was give my mom a high five. It took two attempts because her delivery on the first one was less than satisfactory.
By far the worst part of this whole experience is having to wash the stitches. I'm usually not very squeemish when it comes to seeing blood or wounds, but having to touch it is almost too much for me. The good news is I should get used to it after the first few times, and it won't be a problem after that.
So, yeah, that was my experience, what about yours? Have anything similar happen to you?
