It's with a heavy heart that I read that Anne McCaffery has passed on. She was an inspriation to many with her wonderful universes and characters.
Who many of you know of Pern and the Dragons there. Or Ballyban with the Crystal singers. Helga - the Ship who sang. And of course the Doona series.

Anne wrote about strong resourceful female characters at a time when more females characters whimpered in the cornewr whilse the men battles bug-eyes monsters.

Sadly missed, Gone Between on one of her Dragons.
