Memes: Wishlist and Now Playing
Well; it's the time of year to think about gifting the folks we care about and/or related to (both reasons need not apply simultaneously XD). I often expect nothing; making it much less stressful on myself; and that much more special when and if I ever do get anything ^^ Though; I do so enjoy giving things to my friends ^^
That being said; my Christmas Wishlist looks like this:
A Mahjong Set (Japanese preferred; but any standard set would be great ^^)
Anything from my dream commish list: (Art from Bliss GreyCloud; Amanda Payne; Karabiner, J. Fujita, or Carnival ^^)
$2 Mil and World Peace (XD)
Or maybe a copy of Skyrim or MW3 to call mah own ^^
Other than that; just being remembered makes me more than happy ^^ A Gift is just cake ^^ (Not sure if this is a Meme as of yet; but I've seen it in several journals ^^)
And: My own shot at something like a Meme: "Now Playing"
(I believe something very similar was started by
s0an and
Tanek in the Wrongside Forum a while back)
Now Playing:
PSP: Valkyria Chronicles II
Dude; This game rocks; For serious. SEGA kinda came outta nowhere with this tactical/real-time RPG set in fictitious mid 1930's Europe.
Anime Cutscenes? Check.
Kick-arse action? Check.
Lots of voice-overs? Double Check.
Added bonus of having a bit of a nod towards Gundam 0079? Check Mk II Custom.
Apparently the sequel to it's debut on the PS3 in Japan; this game is quite robust, yet easy to pick up and play ^^ Multiplayer is just icing on the cake ^^
PSP: Gundam vs. Gundam Next PLUS (Japan)
When I first snagged a copy of this; I noted there was a translations patch; so I was like "Hey, cool ^^" ... Little did I know it was a very VERY scant amount of translation; leaving me at odds with a few confusing menus and options all in tightly-packed Kanji. This single gripe aside... THIS IS THE CULMINATION OF WHAT EVERY GUNDAM FIGHTING GAME HAS ASPIRED TO BE! Take the somewhat clunky, yet classic Gundam Battle Assault (PS1); add a Generous Helping of Mobile Suit GUNDAM: Federation vs. Zeon (PS2); season with a cup of Encounters in Space(PS2); add a dash of Battle Assault 3(PS2) (for multiple team members); then sprinkle Mobile Suits from all corners of the Gundam Universe; and bake in the preheated oven (375 Degrees) for Three hours. (XD)
This little gem takes the proverbial cake when it comes to what we fans of the Gundam Battle Assault series have wanted: Fast, tight controls; high maneuverability; allowance for adaptation on-the-fly; TONS of selectable Suits; Multiplayer Options (And then some ^^); Mission-style modes; and that little bit of satisfaction that comes with a well-placed combat shottie blast to your opponent's face XD.
Any fan of Gundam; I tell you now; this game is totally worth a shot. They should TOTALLY port this over ASAP; the PSP handles it like a boss; the gameplay is solid; and keeps you coming back for more!
XBOX360: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Need I say more? Skyrim is like Morrowind after it went to the gym for three years, then souped up on steroids >.<. The game is so massive; there's over 500 unique locations to discover; thousands of enemies to fight; free reign of Smithing; Alchemy; Enchanting... you could feasibly go out and mine your own ores; smelt them into ingots; gather up a bunch of pelts for leather; hoard a bunch of Soul Gems (filled, of course XD), and sit down and MAKE your own set of personalized Awesome Armor/Weapons; then make them legendary by working them further... It's already so epic it hurts... and then I hear tell of DLC looming on the horizon?
