I did something useful! Yay!

I finally created a spreadsheet to keep track of commissions and auctions! And it's cool, too. Based on an idea I got from a comment on my FA journal (thank you
snistrtaz!), I figured out how to make the spreadsheet auto-color-code itself based on the dates of stuff! Like if an auction is finished and everything is done, all shipped and so on, after 2 weeks it goes gray to remind me to delete it. Or if a commission goes past 60 days, it turns yellow... and then red after 120 days! (I may tweak the time frames, but you get the idea...) Took me for-freaking-EVER to figure out how to make the color-coding work (turns out it was a dumb technicality and I was over-complicating things) but now I've got it all figured out, and I'm HAPPY!!!
All I hafta do now is input things as I get emails and updates, and it keeps track and I can sort it how I need and see where I am in things at a glance instead of having to do the research over and over again every time I needed to know what I was waiting on! Maybe when it's not 2am, I'll finish sorting the info that I inputted tonight, and get to work on clearing things out.
Yay time-savers! (And brain-savers!)

Good for you! ^_^
A spreadsheet is a great idea, Excel is your friend.

I was thinking of getting a whiteboard to hang on my wall to remind me of stuff that needs to be done. It's harder to ignore your projects when they are handing there on a big white board.

how do you do the autocolor? :p i'd probably try and do it harder then it accutally needed to be too
I've been finding their on line stuff like the Calendar, documents, and other things very handy. :)

I'm SO gonna laugh, though, the first time I see someone at a con using the printable forms I included in it. ^^
You were just a step ahead of the rest of us there, it's a good thing.
:)
